10700k stuck at 4.7Ghz

Hello All,

Hope you are well,

Just got a 10700k, the CPU gets stuck at 4.7ghz and does not go back to lower clocks in idle. BIOS has been reset, no XMP profile enabled, Power config in balanced.

Any ideas?

Thanks for the help!
Roberto

Regards,
Mingo

In advanced power settings for your balanced plan make sure that minimum process state isn't set to 100%.
Balanced(Recommended)-> Change Plan Settings -> Change advanced power settings -> Processor Power Management -> Minimum Processor State -> Setting is something like 10%.

Hi Worldwin, thanks for your response, I had it at 5%, per Windows default. Im suspicious about a Bios Bug oh the MSi 490 MEG ACE, and the cpu not getting into C states.

In theory no, but having the CPU at 4.7ghz at all times, a good power bill on its way.

Is there a program running in Task Manger when looking at processes, see if there is utilization of CPU cycles.

No big deal, I have a good cooler, 35C on average...just curious, that behavior not normal.
