I see your point. I would only overclock to see how far it would go. Then I would drop it down to stock settings to run daily at.

if you have the money, get the 980x
if money is an issue, get the 920/30

The 930 is only about $6 more than the 920...

It says your going with 12gb of ram but most games only use 2-3gb's and gtaiv still only uses about 4-5gb maxed. I also noticed that you are using a zalman cooler, there outdated and run hot on quad cores and you would be better off with a corsair H50, scythe mugen 2, or a xigmatek dark knight.

Since I hit pretty close to 8GB of use some days I figure going for 12 is not a bad thing. I REALLY wanted to try the corsair H50, but I don't like how it vents INTO the case, especially running the new GTX 480 (Hotttt). I might still order it and try it side by side, any notice any issues with the way it vents?

o.0 still not worth it.

Most averaging between 10-20 dollars difference though. 6 is definitely not the norm.

99% of us that I have seen have it venting outwards in a push pull setup. Most of the time I dont claim to be smarter than the team of engineers working for the manufacturer and will try it their way first, in this case however I dont even know that i have seen anyone, myself included that started with it venting inwards, most just laughed and iinstalled two fans pushing that hot air out. That being said, the H50 performs wonderfully in a outward venting push pull config, highly recommended by me, though my experience is nothing intel so I could be mistaken on its performance on the "i" series chips
