I'm interested in one, but their website isn't very clear.
It mentions "Supports standard Intel box fan" but doesn't specifically mention (in)compatibility with aftermarket low profile coolers.
I'd like to use the Noctua NH-L9i, could that be done?

The only people I've seen using these systems are tech reviewers, and most of them are to busy making content to be bothered with this question, maybe on of the Overclockers can chime in.
Thanks in advance!

I dream big but lack the budget.

I have the L9i on my Deskmini right now. It's really tight to the back I/O plate, but not problematically so. Otherwise it doesn't seem to interfere with anything else on the board and it is the one I will plan to use going forwards with my H110 build. If you'd like I can snap a couple photos of the fit and post here tomorrow when I am back in my office.

Sorry to get back at you this late. Didn't get a notification of your post. That's great news to hear. A few photos would be really helpful, thank you in advance.

Thanks!
That looks tight, but not tight enough to be scared away. Guess my dad's PC will be the quietest in the house.

Side note: I love the discrete GPU solution, would you mind elaborating a little more on that?

I dream big but lack the budget.

Basically using the BPlus P4SM2 to provide a x4 PCIe slot on the Mini STX board

http://www.bplustech.com/ExtenderBoard/P4SM2.html

Once that is in place, using an HDPlex PCIe extender to attach the card to the board and now I just need to figure out power. I will hopefully be getting a board shortly that peels off 12V to provide power to the GPU while passing 19V through to the STX board. Once I have this and have confirmed the build will work, then I will be building out a case for it.

Do you think this

http://www.scytheus.com/product/big-shuriken2-revb/

Would fit?

I'm guessing no.

What about cutting a hole in the top, to let the fan fit?

iloveampshade I'm interested in your setup for the dGPU.

My main question is did you finish powering it up? How did you do it?

I'm having trouble figuring out an easy way to power the dGPU.
