Downsizing plans - opinions please

Hey, just wanted to get an opinion on my plans to downsize my current PC.

Current specs: CPU: Intel 4770k GPU: Nvidia GTX 980 Strix DirectCU II 2x SSD With big case, motherboard and power supply

I was initially thinking of getting a Node 202 and putting everything in that with a new mobo, PSU and cpu cooler. However I have seen the Ncase m1 and do prefer the looks and the fact that its aluminium. It is pricier (and a little bigger) but I can sort of offset that because I won't have to buy a new CPU cooler since I believe my H100 should fit.

So my current plans are probably to order the M1, a SFX PSU (Can get a good deal on a SilverStone SFX SX650-G) and a mini itx motherboard (ASUS Z87I-PRO).

My goals are mainly just a gaming and general purpose rig that is small, fairly quiet, decent temperatures and the ability to last many CPU/GPU upgrades.

Can please I get some opinions on this plan and how well it fits my needs? Also open to suggestions to alternatives if you think it'll work better or save me money.

The Node 202 is a great little case but it is not for everyone. Check out the Sliger Ceberus case. That is a pretty slick case and has a lot of options. I wish the Node 202 came in aluminum.

The Corsair SF600 on newegg is on sale right now.. just saying. Great PSU, I run the SF600 to power my 8700K and 1080ti.

The Ncase M1 is NOT compatible with your GPU - in the Ncase, the biggest heatpipe protrudes outside of the case, so you can't close the panel.

That's sad, extremely rare, and it's onw of the reasons I hadn't looked in the Ncase when I still had a functionning ASUS GTX980 Strix. The paradox is that now, with my heavier, bigger Asus GTX1080ti Strix, I could fit it in an M1...

The main disadvantage I've read about the Node202 is the lack of GPU exhaust vents. The Raven RVZ01/03 is bigger, but there are vents (in the RVZ01 I'm sure, I made a rig in it). But check which version you get : the RVZ03 only has an ATX PSU bracket ,because Silverstone tries hard to sell its 140mm ATX PSU, and the RVZ01 has multiple revisions - and depending on it, the plug might interfere with your GPU bracket.

Your GTX980 really is a nice card, it's just that for a SFF build, it adds challenges... Don't give up, an good luck !
