445K avg PPD from a GTX970 is awesome thumb.gif I am only pulling about 60-90K more per day on my 980's. I too, am hoping for a 10xx series card but it is not in the near future redface.gif

Thanks, although its just the record I've got for 24hours. I think it has something to do with the open window and 26f temps lately - this card is a beast if it can just stay cool! Last night she peaked at 68c as opposed to 80c in the October [email protected] when I was averaging ~300k PPD

What overclock do you have on this card?
My PPD for my 970 is around 350k (without overclock).

it was a one day output, probably with a WU completing right after the new day. The max on EOC is 381k.

1541mhz | 8ghz

Every time I look I see 390k with x21. I was happy to see 450k, but its definitely a fluke.

Ill try to remember to participate this year. I have 3570K, GTX960 and 3570 I can throw into the mix. As I haven't been active for awhile what is the most efficient way of getting the client going?

Step 1, get a box. Step 2, cut a hole in the box. Step 3, go to https://folding.stanford.edu/ and download the client.

You'll also want to change your GPU drivers. 372.70 work best for me, and you can get them at http://www.nvidia.com/download/driverResults.aspx/107012/en-us

Other than that, I'd only run my CPU (and ONLY the CPU) while folding for this comp. Otherwise I see higher overall numbers running my GPU by itself.

This all may be moot now, but windows vs windows with a linux VM or straight linux? Will the GPUs fold in linux? Used to be there were a lot more points moving from Windows to Linux but that may have changed.

The 3570K (~4.0 GHZ) and 960 are in the same box. Would it make sense to only run the 960 then. From what I recall GPUs were taking over in the PPD race and I don't think that has changed.

The 3570 could chug away in the other computer.

Putting the D in the box. Haha.

Linuix is still faster than Windows for folding, GPU and CPU. Not sure if it can be passed through to the VM.
