Wouldn't need to cover things like running specific driver packages for best GPU output or anything like that, just the basics to get people folding on one CPU and/or one GPU. This email would need to be specific to the Foldathon so it wouldn't get buried in a newsletter.
As far as I'm aware OCN rarely sends out emails, so it wouldn't seem like spam to do this monthly.
I will have to run this suggestion by the bossman. As of right now, the only permissions I have in terms of mass notification is the distro list that I send out the blast PM to. I don't know if it will happen, but it's definitely worth asking about.

There are a lot of things that lead to the drop in OCN folding activity:
- Vertical Scope really did a number on this forum last year. Many, many people left.
- There were no foldathons for several months last year.
- The Forum Folding War is nowhere to be seen. Last year's fell apart before it even started.
- Participation always drops during summer.
- Activity in the subforum has dropped to almost nothing.
I don't mean to sound like I'm complaining, but the fact that participation has dropped should surprise no one. I don't really have any great suggestions to offer, nor do I have time to become an editor myself, but the current editors (who and where are they?
) need to take on more active roles.
No, this is the stuff I want to hear honestly!
Admittedly, the drop in FaT's was due to myself and the other editors getting swallowed up with life. I will take the personal blame for the lack of FaT's last year. I was stuck with fullblown school-based masochism, and the other editors had some IRL stuff going on. One of the editor's, Axipher, has been doing a bunch of work on the Foldathon site (modernization project), so he's been wrapped up in that for the past couple months. Please don't interpret this as me making excuses, but such is life I suppose.
That actually ties in with the FFW. Axipher single-handedly hosts and maintains the FaT/FFW site. Unfortunately, we were not able to get the FFW live by our anticipated date this year. We are planning on hosting it later, but it really depends on the state of the site at this point.
And that's where I come in I guess. I am running the FaT's right now, and trying to fulfill the Editor role. I have talked with the big man, and I think we will probably bring on new editors soon.
And of course, we can't do a whole lot about the summer heat

I will have to dig through the editor repository and see if we have anything to work with. I also may look for someone to post an advertisement in the OCN Discord as well. Any little bit will help!
