Depends where you are, and how the system was installed. Someone in England won't get much, but here in ZA with our extreme UV (modern panels are UV) we get a decent output. We have 9 280W panels, but they're far from the inverter/batteries and with a thin cable. We currently get about 1.5-1.7kW in peak time, from about 10-2. Later in the afternoon is not much. About 1kW around 9 in the morning, just to give you a rough idea of how the output changes. The most I've seen so far was 1.9, mid day.

That said, if we move them closer with a better cable we should easily pull 2+ with current sunlight. And then we can ad 6 panels or so, and bump the output by 66%. The initial cost to install the system is very hefty though.

^^^ i think youre about 5 minutes too late 😛

Ahh I thought I was in a prime location for solar panels but im sure southern US has nothing on south africa. Either way assuming the batteries last that could pay for itself pretty quick even here I'd think.

Kinda of topic but what do you run with all those panel? Are you off grid? My mom just gone off grid like 3 month ago. They got about 0.7kw of panel Propane oven and Oil heating. I think they run the generator once a week

well.. squeaked in that FAT. The rig with 2 2080Tis just bit the dust. After a bunch of fits n'starts and just about every possible BSOD code, and Q-code including a string of 9Cs where it hangs before entering bios, clrcmos' and bios flash, it still can't load bios UEFI and continues to hang at Q-code 9C, which is "Load Video Bios". Drained the rig, pull the 2080Tis, swapped in a known-good 1070Ti and it still hangs at 9C, failing to enter bios. I think my 9900X has bit the dust? (which I don;t have a spare x299 CPU to swap in - ugh!)

Hybrid off-grid. We have a large house in a place that's sometimes referred to as "snobs hill". Our geysers and stove are not connected to the system (like I said we're pulling under 2kW from the panels, it's a 5kW inverter, and we don't want to ruin the batteries by using much more than what the panels are providing). Apart from that, the batteries (4x gel) are depleted to their safe limit somewhere between 7 and 11 in the night, depending what we did during the day (with only 9 panels on our house the batteries struggle to charge properly), at which point the system switches back to Eskom.
