Just getting my MSI x99 gaming 9 AC up and running. Its been such a easy transition so far. ZERO hiccups. Going way smoother than my Z97 asus platform .

No worries man, I've been doing the same and the x99 platform is driving me nuts!! There are sooo many motherboards that look amazing ("on paper") it is hard to make my decision. This wasn't a problem when I got into the x79 platform, the RIVE was IT....period. This time though, uggg. Still saving some cash though to afford both the RAM and the board, have the 5960X sitting on my desk right in front of my monitors reminding me daily...LOL.

Good to see the discussion starting smile.gif. How about I'll gather up all the specifications on all MSI boards and get them into the OP.

I dream big but lack the budget.

I've been running the SLI Plus for about a week and a half, and I am quite pleased. I jumped from a Gigabyte X58-UD3R w/ i7 920, so it was quite a nice jump, even considering I haven't gotten around to overclocking anything yet.

UEFI BIOS is a new thing to me, too, and I find the MSI easy enough to navigate. I thought XMP might be more tricky to enable, but no, all I had to do was click a button in the top left and away I went.

Just mounted yesterday, my MSI x99s Gaming 7 (16gb Gskill 2400 c15) with a 5930K cpu and for now a air cooler NOCTUA NH-U12S, inside my Lian Li PC-A20 case.

I had only few time...

CPU @ 4300mhz @ 1.2 vcore idle: 35 load: 60 (1 hour of AIDA64 stress test + winrar bechmark)
MEM @ 2666mhz @ 1.35 vcore

Because i still have low temps, I think that with 1.3 vcore (max i should go on air) on the cpu i can reach 4500 mhz easy.

ZERO problems so far.
Love this board, the board fan control is amazing, can put my system completly quiet, wich is nice because this system is a gaming and media-center machine.

Will give more info soon i have more time to test.

Hi There...
I have purchased the board X99S SLI PLUS.
But since day one, has been a real nightmare to work with it...
I have a 5820k CPU and 32GB 8x4gb GSkill DDR4 2400mhz black.

I have flashed both bios to 1.20, to try to improve my situation to no avail...
I still have random boot problems, where the boot process stops on the "B4" reference on the lower corner right...
That happens when i do some restart on the OS for exemple...
Some times it hangs there and don´t go anywhere, other times it goes to the bios screen and do the POST.
When it hangs i have to press reset to restart the system and at that time it posts normally.

The other issues, are allready inside the bios....
Sometimes the bios hangs from nothing... like when i want to the Sensor monitors, or when i apply the settings...
Last time i think the bios went corrupt, because when i pressed reset the power light and hdd don´t light anymore and there is no action on the POST...
Have to switch to the Green BIOS, to get the system up again...

This is a very bad bios product, and i don´t really understand why theses products don´t have a better quality control.

Now i have a NON FUNCTION BIOS on the blue side, and a problematic bios on the green side.
Also... There is some memory problems on Windows 8.1, because i have allready have some random BSOD (more when i activate the XMS option).

Also there is some kind of problem with Samsung SSD Rapid Option and this board, because i also get some BSOD refering the Rapid process.
To reference, my system is NOT OVERCLOCKED, the cpu are at default and so is the memories...

What can be done?

- To recover the corrupted and failed blue side bios
- To resolve the hangouts on boot sequence that stops at "B4"
- To resolve the random lockups inside the bios (THAT corrupts the damm BIOS)
- To improve reliability of this Board...

So far im not impressed with this product... I was expecting far more from MSI, after i have a good experience with my latest Z77 Gamming board.
I really need help here because i do need my system to work...

Also, its possible to help with the settings to overclock the system?
There are so many settings all over the place (OC section, then CPU Section)...

Best Regards,
Paulo Eduardo

PS: Sorry for my english, but that is not my native language...

I've got a 5960x waiting on an Xpower AC, can't wait! Kind of sad to see my Big Bang Xpower 2 go, though. Any word on a Big Bang X99 board?

Real bummer you're having so many problems already, all I can do is suggest to talk to MSI. Might be just a defective motherboard. As on overclocking, there are thousands of guides all over the internet, and I'm sure the lads over at the == Haswell-E Overclock Leaderboard & Owners Club ==
Also, don't worry about the English, you're doing quite good, actually. (And I'll let you in on a little 'secret': It's not my first language either.

Already ordered your XPOWER? So far I have not heard anything about a Big Bang X99 board, and haven't been able to find anything on the interwebz either. Seems like the XPOWER is going to be the most XTREME board in MSI's line-up.

And it's always sad to see old stuff go redface.gif

I dream big but lack the budget.
