On a side note, I have contacted $ilent, the Intel Editor to see if he'd be able to give this club the [OFFICIAL] tag.

I dream big but lack the budget.

Welll...

One less problem...

I manage to recover the "BLUE BIOS", using the guideline in the manual.
I did a USB Bootable with RUFUS App.
Then i put the executable and the bios 1.20, on that pen.

The i powered off the system. Put the GREEN BIOS Switch.
Booted by the usb pen.
In DOS i changed the switch to the "BLUE BIOS", and execute the file and bios.

In DOS the updater reflashed the blue bios with sucess...
After all process is done, i restarted the system...

And Voilá..... BLUE BIOS back to life! smile.gif
So i have now the 2 bios fully working (or at least booting...).

Unfortunatelly, the rest of the problems still happen...

With my best Regards,

LPC

I have purchased the board X99S SLI PLUS.
But since day one, has been a real nightmare to work with it...
I have a 5820k CPU and 32GB 8x4gb GSkill DDR4 2400mhz black.

I have flashed both bios to 1.20, to try to improve my situation to no avail...
I still have random boot problems, where the boot process stops on the "B4" reference on the lower corner right...
That happens when i do some restart on the OS for exemple...
Some times it hangs there and don´t go anywhere, other times it goes to the bios screen and do the POST.
When it hangs i have to press reset to restart the system and at that time it posts normally.

The other issues, are allready inside the bios....
Sometimes the bios hangs from nothing... like when i want to the Sensor monitors, or when i apply the settings...
Last time i think the bios went corrupt, because when i pressed reset the power light and hdd don´t light anymore and there is no action on the POST...
Have to switch to the Green BIOS, to get the system up again...

This is a very bad bios product, and i don´t really understand why theses products don´t have a better quality control.

Now i have a NON FUNCTION BIOS on the blue side, and a problematic bios on the green side.
Also... There is some memory problems on Windows 8.1, because i have allready have some random BSOD (more when i activate the XMS option).

Also there is some kind of problem with Samsung SSD Rapid Option and this board, because i also get some BSOD refering the Rapid process.
To reference, my system is NOT OVERCLOCKED, the cpu are at default and so is the memories...

What can be done?

- To recover the corrupted and failed blue side bios
- To resolve the hangouts on boot sequence that stops at "B4"
- To resolve the random lockups inside the bios (THAT corrupts the damm BIOS)
- To improve reliability of this Board...

So far im not impressed with this product... I was expecting far more from MSI, after i have a good experience with my latest Z77 Gamming board.
I really need help here because i do need my system to work...

Also, its possible to help with the settings to overclock the system?
There are so many settings all over the place (OC section, then CPU Section)...

Best Regards,
Paulo Eduardo

PS: Sorry for my english, but that is not my native language...

have you tried testing the sistem with 1 stick of ram only?
Loaded the default bios values to check if everything is working properly?
maight be a bad piece too, try to talk msi.
All i have read about sli plus are sweet things till now.

Hi!
Allready tested with just 1,2 and 4 dimms, same problem ocurr...

From what MSI told me, maybe this is a hotplug USB thing (the B4 lockup).
As for the random locks on the BIOS... No reply yet...

Can anyone give me some insights on what settings should i use on this board if i want to overclock?

I have just alter the multiplier and add some voltage to the cpu...

No idea if i should do something more...

Best Regards,

LPC

nice to ear your solving a few problems.
i dunno if this might help or its related maybe to the chipset, but
some peoples with gigabyte are expiriencing your same troubles with bios, post, lockups, etc, give a look here :
https://www.overclock.net/t/1510355/gigabyte-x99-motherboard-discussion-club/110
they got problems with some hard drives, i gave a quick read, and they seem related to western digital drives.
Perhaps its related to your hardware too..
hope this helps.
as for overclocking, there are the stiky on the forum, just use the guideling, as there aint a specific one for sli plus.

Hi!
Thanks for your message...

I only have SSD´s on my system:

840 EVO 500 primary and 840 EVO 1TB secondary.
So that is not from that...

Check out the original post and also MSIs website. It should be clear. I'd say the XPOWER is beter, but that might be the color scheme enchanting me.

I am having issues right now as well with my x99s. Got everything going yesterday after completing my build, then this morning i went to boot it up and get nothing.
Nothing turns on, the fans won't go, only thing that is lit up on the mobo is the power icon and a red light by the 24pin power connector. Im at work now so i can't do much from here, but im really pissed that it won't even boot, even after unplugging the damn thing and switching outlets. The only thing it gave me after switching outlets was like 2 seconds of the fans spinning and it trying to boot, then it shuts back off.

Any ideas?

Its all about Haswell-E and my new build coming soon, can't wait!biggrin.gif
