I was just poking around in Thermal Radar 3 (AI Suite) and was looking at some of those TPU and EPU settings. Has anyone found any meaningful power savings by messing around with this stuff? I noticed there are 'away' modes and am curious if there some suggested settings that could save some power...?

Right now I have a 4.5Ghz OC on my 7820X but I probably don't care about that for 98% of what I do, so if there is a way to save juice I'm interested.

If so get a pwm fan controller.

I wanted to set up fan profiles for “silent” ~400rpm and “performance” ~1000rpm. I’ve never gotten it to work right since the board won’t spin them slower than 50% or 60%, even in the BIOS. They are PWM Noctua and Fractal fans. Fan control is something I’ve had trouble figuring out. I’m fine with just doing one curve if I have to, but if I can’t spin the fans slower than 60% anyway, what’s the point?

I guess you ram Q-fan to scan for the pulse width that holds a rotation? Also, Try to NOT use the CPU fan header for very slow speeds.

I definitely noticed having a hard time slowing the CPU fan down. Even with an inline resistor.

I'm not sure an in line resistor is what you want to do IF it is a PWM fan. PWM is constant 12V. I believe the CPU Fan header has a hard coded min spin rate. Set the fan stop to Allow and min rpm to Ignore.

Hi,
Bios has profiles that can be saved
Personally I just used the presets in bios they seem just fine
Turbo for oc'ing and silent for not no crapware needed for that.

Extreme oc'ing just set to full blast save it with all other oc settings as usual.

I have since just gone with manual dial fan controllers on both system and just give the board a couple fans to keep it happy.

I got sick of dealing with ASUS and their software. The controls in BIOS are meh as well for what I wanted to do. Ended up getting the Corsair Commander and have been extremely happy with it. All curves work, the ability to choose what temps affect the fans, and LED controls. I don't use LED fans, I don't even use consumer grade fans, but the fan control and the ability to do fun things with my LED strips (hobby of mine) made it worth the price. I have it installed for a few months now and it has never given me an issue. Curves I setup to track RPM to the GPU temp work perfectly.
