Asus Rampage VI Extreme Encore

Hi guys, just like to inform everyone that Asus Rampage VI Extreme Encore with Optimem III is really improved on the memory overclocking department.
Probably it uses tabbed traces like what buildzoid said not really sure as they coat the PCB on the memory traces area so I can't verify (the coating probably for signal shielding or just aesthetics or they wanted to hide what they are doing with their traces from other manufacturers). Nevertheless the result is amazing, it really improves the overclocking and for my 16gb/dim which is dual ranked and known to be difficult to stabilise. It beats 2 dimm slot Z390 Gene which can only run 2 sticks at 3800 vs this board at 4000 with more channels used but not all slot populated (which normally will not work well with T-topology board). So if you are in the market for new x299 I highly suggest this motherboard. I uses latest UEFI version 0603.

I had the exact opposite experience on an 8x8 Kit. Couldn’t even get to XMP stable until last BIOs update. Wouldn’t pass 3200 for sheet!

Having USB issues with intermittent disconnects on the lower 4. Deal with that after I get rig back together. There are firmware updates for the AS media chips and modded drivers over on winraid. All works fine on USB 2.0. Don’t run a lot of external devices, just a powered hub on my desktop and now and then an external Blu-ray that I use mostly just to read. Get new Blu-ray’s they go in a player once to get ripped then handbrake to re-encode for use on my NAS Plex media server.

Hi there, I saw your signature it seems your board is the older Asus Rampage VI Extreme, am I correct?
I'm talking about the latest Extreme Encore so probably that's the difference? Even the Extreme Omega which is a generation back has no improvement on the ram department so I don't think your board which is 2 generation back can be compared fairly.

Hi there, while it is good for all slot populated single ranked memory (8gb per dimm), I believe Extreme Omega is on par with Z390 in terms of memory trace and optimisation just because it is launched around the same timeline for the same generation which is not good for high density dual ranked memory. I don’t have Extreme Omega so I never really test it out, just making educated guess. If it is actually good memory overclockers then great!

Extreme encore can do 4000c17 CR1 with 1.35v only on dual rank sticks which is very impressive compared with z390 which tops out at 3800 CR2 at 1.45v. Probably IMC at play too but I’ve tried many chips (at least 8 of them) on the Z390 and that is the best out of them.

Even on the web theres no more info after the GTC about this, maybe every one got shock about 0 talking about rtx-3000 serie for pc ?
