Does the Omega feature a T-topology? If so, I was watching a Buildzoid video in which he says having some dimms unpopulated can compromise signal integrity, resulting in lower memory overclocking potential versus having all dimms populated.

I've run the board with both 4 and 8 dimms and saw no difference in OC-ability. Right now I've been running 64GB of 3600c16 sticks (mixed kits) at 4200c17-17-17-40-2T with 1.5V for quite a while. No issues. On a T-top board, filling all slots may result in higher AID memBench, but that is hard to distinguish from 1 dimm per channel.

Today my RVIE gone crazy. Freeze in the OS and since then there is no possibility of setting the memory above 3000 MHz. Regardless of voltages, settings, etc.

Previously, there were no problems with 3800/4000 and CL17.

I have no idea what to do about it. Any of you have such problems?

Bios 1704 and 1503 same issues.

Hi,
Only new item might be a micro code update that would be installed by win-10 on either bios version I'm sure.

Bad results for memory overclocking in my case, with 32GB GSkill 3600CL15 (also tried the 4000CL17 and 3600CL16 both RGB), I only manage 4000 CL18 1T stable (with secondaries and tertiaries very tight). The RTL's and IOL's are nuts, the board autoselect ones after cmos, and then changes to another ones in the next boots.

U can't manually change the RTL's and if u do the board won't boot. If u select different IOL's, will boot but keeps selecting on its own without paying attention to what u set up.

I've seen many guys who purchased the Omega and went back to other boards like EVGA x299 Dark after seeing the instability of memory OC.

Hope Asus fixes it in some way in the future bios. Some boards like the z390 gene received a new bios (1005) which solved many problems with memory overclocking.

Spoiler!

RVIE is in my main PC. Omega on the benchtable. Before I put the current 7980XE art into the main PC, I tested it on Omega. The same memorys, voltages, same CPU, PSU etc.

On RVIE can't OC to 4.7 Ghz with AVX 4.7 and run Blender Classroom for example, without shutdown. Omega works just fine without shutdowns. So i reach VRM capacity on RVIE with monoblock

And issuess with memory is W10 unstable updates, now i known this ;-)
