Thanks Splave - good to know!
So far things have continued to work out well for me with the full set of RGB software config utils for my case/fans/mobo/GTX1080's, they're playing nicely with the iCue software and not bumping into each other.
Regrettably the RGB Plus Fan controller they include with the View 91 case does not store your preferred lighting in non-volatile memory so you get default rotary rainbow effect on the Riing Plus 14 fans without running the (Windows only) RGB Plus software. But at least it doesn't interfere with iCue.
The drive image I rolled back to before starting again with iCue software was a very early one for my Win7 SP1 x64 build which had never seen ANY RGB software installed -- I wanted to rule out any possibility of registry, appdata, etc. being a problem. I really think getting it working had to be something they did new in 3.19.120, because even going back again to this same image and installing the 3.18.77 again with the updated firmware on the Corsair RGB DIMM's, 3.18.77 couldn't "see" those DIMM's.
Sadly there are a LOT of reports out there on Corsair forums (busiest thread link: HERE
) of people having serious FPS drops, high interrupts and CPU utilization, etc. for people running Intel CPU's and Corsair RGB modules with this release that were not happening with the previous version, and rolling back to the previous version fixes it.
Also at least for me and this rig, the Timings menu for the DIMM modules doesn't work for me in iCue 3.19.120, it doesn't display anything.
So while the 3.19.120 iCue release is progress for finally getting the ability to control/configure the lighting on Corsair RGB modules for our X299 OCF boards, it isn't all good news. Word is Corsair has identified the lag/stutter problem and a fixed release is coming. If you're gaming on your system it might be better to wait for the fixed update, or plan on uninstalling/zapping the iCue software after you get your DIMM RGB lighting set the way you like it to get your FPS/performance back.
But it is nice to at least be able to switch that default rainbow swirl effect off and set something more to my liking for now.
