Bios F12 is now out.
Tested it and it seems to claw back some of the performance lost from the spectre and meltdown patches. Frametimes in BF1 and overall cleaner with less spikes. Would recommend trying as I went from F7->F12.

EDIT: Don't use F12. The bios keeps on causing BSOD, particularly the kernel_mode_heap_corruption. I blue screen even on stock settings. Reverting back to F7.

Need to be more specific on what you're having trouble with.

F13 better? Have you tried it?

Wouldn't be so many ways to overclock if there was a "best" way. Everyone's hardware is different. Every CPU is different. It is silicone lottery for a reason.

Have you read any of the numerous guides or watched any of the videos tutorials and proceeded to try overclocking?

Any chip/component on your PC is subject to silicone lottery not just the CPU

I haven't tried F13 yet, F7 is working okay for me atm.

Have not tried F13. F12 works fine for me now. F12 should have the microcode fixes for spectre and meltdown.

I recently had an issue with three PWM headers on my gaming 7 Z370. Long story short I flashed to F13 and then back to F6 that I was using previously. All the PWM headers are now working properly again.

That got me thinking which bios version I should be using now. I have a delided 8700k and a custom loop that has been working perfectly with F6 except for the recent PWM control issue. That seems to be corrected now.

What bios version do you guys recommend I run? I have no plans of upgrading my CPU anytime soon.
