I haven't had any problems in the last few months with the LAN, seems like the updates fixed whatever it was.
Oh and, completely uninstalling the killer software and just using the basic driver.

Just got this board with a new 9900KF, running at 4.9GHz at the moment (all core, ht off).

First thing I noticed is the huge amount of BIOS options (Almost overwhelming, but nice!)
But other than that the board (after days of tweaking) is performing incredible.

I was worried at first about the huge DPC latency and incredibly bad mouse polling I noticed, but after literally disabling every unnecessary component in (modded) bios, including pci root ports (with Asmedia and other crap), I'm now sitting <10us like my previous Asus Z270G Gaming mainboard.

Finally my Trident 3866/18 memory can run on native speed (And even tricter timings than XMP default profile)

5GHz is doable for me on 1.25+v but AVX workload kind makes it uncomfortably hot (90+c) and I dont like offsett, avx get triggered way too much these days by all sorts of things.
Maybe ill tweak my mem and cpu cache a bit more.

yep loving this board also, upgraded from the msi gaming edge ac

I would like some input on overclocking voltages for my i7 9700k @ 5.0Ghz AVX 0

which is the better voltage to use for 24/7 ?

bios volts set 1.265v - win10 load prime95 = 1.315v @ LLC mode 2
or
bios volts set 1.290v - win10 load prime95 = 1.315v @ LLC mode 3

1.315v is the sweet spot for my cpu at 5.0Ghz stable

TIA

I answered my own question, bios at 1.265v won't cold boot.

I just purchased this mobo and had a quick question: is there anyway to disable the red LEDs on the board? I thought I saw an option under the EZ mode in bios but it doesnt seem to do anything if on or off.

@UPGR4Y3DD
That setting only seems to turn off one of the red lights. I dont think the others can be disabled at all. I kinda wish I didnt get a case with a glass side panel now... as the lights are glaring at me.
Also, just FYI but setting the ez-overclock setting to 'bios' instead of 'knob' (or whatever its called) will change the color to white, so dont do that

Nah can't turn them all off. I had the same gripe with it since I bought it and that was quite a long time ago lol.

Have to say tho, I'm very impressed in general with this board. It overclocks like a beast, the BIOS is as good as MSI has ways been with 1 exception. No AC/DC loadline control.

Memory tweaking is incredible.

LAN, well, yeah that is an issue.. but not directly MSI's fault
It's a killer networks chip and those are always iffy in the driver department. With 1909 windows on a older driver LAN kept cutting out on me and dropping me from games with random disconnects. It has been fixed with an update but still, it's nowhere near as stable as just Intel 219v for example.

Also, while the VRM setup is very beefy they do get hotter then other boards in this price range. High 60's to low 70's (Celsius) is quite normal for this board under a heavy OC in day to day loads and high 80's to low 90's in AVX Prime95 is what I'm used to seeing. Nothing dangerous but still higher then a ASUS Apex or Gigabyte Aorus Pro would do.

All in all my long-term opinion is I would definitely buy this again. No board will ever be perfect but this board comes close. My 2 biggest complaints would be price compared to Aorus Pro / Apex / Strix E (or whichever letter has the ROG VRM) and the choice for killer LAN. Would've really liked to see Intel 219v lan and €20-30 less.

what sort of memory overclocks are people getting on this board ?

I have gskill F4-3600C16D-16GTZR DDR4 3600Mhz Trident Z RGB @ 4267MHz @ 17-18-18-64-790-2t @ 1.5v

but unstable @ 4400Mhz and bluescreens when trying to boot at 4500Mhz and hangs above that

anyone else want to share there info ?

updated men timings as I listed the wrong ones

I can boot as high as 4700 but it ain't stable but that isn't the boards fault. Stable max on my setup probably 4500 CL19 or something if I throw enough voltage at it. I have 2 daily profiles tho. 4200-16-17-17-34-320-2T @ 1,55v and 4133 17-17-17-34-320-2T @ 1,46v.

This board so far is pretty well up there for RAM OC considering the topology (I do only use 2 DIMM'S so it doesn't matter as much)
