My friend has the same board and 9900k and some F4-4266C19D-16GTZR G.Skill 4266 he bought as open box that won't post. Only Q code cc.
It boots fine with other ram and the same ram in the quad description is in the QVL. (F4-4266C19Q-16GTZR)
Any suggestions before he returns it?
I was wondering if there may be a problem with it since it was purchased as "open box"

Cheers

Im not familiar with MXIE bios but try to find trace centering in dram timing control.

Enable it (supposed to help clocking with A2 PCB sticks)

Thanks for the reply. I couldn't find "trace" in the bios manual but I found this section.
Is any of this relevant?
Cheers

Hello everybody. I will add a few words to the topic. I have 9900k and asus apex XI and g.skill 4800cl18 2x8gb memory. I can boot with XMP profile, I can change primary and secondary timings to 4600 cl17-19-19-38 1.5V (and pass all the memory and linx 0.9.3 tests (35000 - 20 times). But when rebooting, stability may be lost. Of course, I turned off the memory training in the BIOS and on the board. Working at a memory frequency of 4600+ is a lottery in which, in addition to memory and the motherboard, the memory controller (imc) in the processor plays an important role. My processor is much worse than the author of this topic. With its processor, I could easily work with 4600-4800 memory and optimized timings.
For my 9900k, I decided to work with memory at a frequency of 4000c16-16-16-38 1.45V with optimized timings, which requires low voltages. May be next CPU will be better. Fortunately, I took my 4800 memory very cheaply - less than 350 dollars.
