fail to install OS POST
I've installed quite a number of operating systems of late on a test bench with a Cooler Master Silent Pro 850 PSU - Many boards have been dealt with successfully without any problems.
There is one exception:
Gigabyte X99 SOC CHAMPION - I got 2 of these boards, used (possibly)_and I can't get the system to POST to install the operating system. The CPU was the 5820 K which as far as I know will work on ANY BIOS for the motherboard.
The difference with this board is there are 3 switches which other boards don't have as this is an OC centric board.
What is the most probable cause of the problem?
The fans would start up, spin for a few seconds and then the system would stop - connected via 8 pin and 4 pin though I tried both
I've speculated that previous owners may have wrecked the socket but it looks totally un-damaged - I just can't believe I've had this problem but not on any other board - Helpful comments please !!!
