The first 2 CB scores were after the Robo OC. Seems low to me from what I have seen others getting, ~2200+, but that might improve with a manual OC.

Installed the new 106 Bios today and will take a deep dive into OCing this weekend. (Totally new to this as I was on an X79 and the UEFI and other stuff is all new to me so any helpful advice would be appreciated)

Liking what I am seeing thus far though.

Looking good, you guys should be able to drop the voltage a little and keep stability, for 4.9-5.2. Based on your temps/voltage I figure you can definitely hit 5.3 and maybe 5.4. Though, my personal temp tolerance is 90C on the hottest core, some may want to keep their chip cooler.

Thanks, was happy to see it do that as well. (check my next post)

As for the Tridents, I thought I was having a problem initially with them as the bios didn't seem to want to save the XMP profile when I set it after reboots. But I boosted the volts from 1.35 to 1.36 and it is loading up all the time now at 4000. I have never been much of a Ram OCer in the past as I don't understand the timings at all, lol. But may get into it a bit now and see if I can tighten up the timings a bit or boost the freq.

Ok, got into it a bit this morning and got this result.

Seems I got headroom on voltage but the temps are real high and not sure whether to try for 5.4 even to CPU-Z validate. (Though I did watch a der bauer vid this morning where he said not to worry too much about hitting the 100 C temporarily)

But am happy with a 24-7 5.1.

A little hot for cinebench but 1.43v actual is a lot for an AIO to handle. Are you using the robo OC? maybe try manually entering the cpu voltage. I'd start with 1.4v for 5.3 and if that seems stable, work your way down

Ya, I am still tinkering here.

That run was done while on Adaptive with Target set to 1.35.

Since then I watched luumi's video and making some adjustments.
Using Override, adjusted VSA and VCCIO, PWM Freq etc as he suggested. This has brought temps down considerably (mid 70's-low 80's) but couldn't get CB to complete at 1.4.

Will keep working it though.

So far I've left my VSA, VCCIO, and PWM frequency on auto. Will be interested to see your results on those

I have my OC running real nice on Bios 1.01. Anything in the updates worth the change?

Did you say your temps are in the 70's on a Corsair H110i??!! No way! What is it delided??

Anyhow so much going to get this board come birthday time next month or when price drops below $500! Cough Expensive!

Yes, that's right. No, it wasn't delidded. But was purchased from SL 5.1 @ 1.32v IIRC.

After playing around with settings and trying to keep temps to a minimum, I have it 5.2 24/7 with target v set to 1.36 Adaptive. Running a couple of games I never see temps go past 65 and the voltage peaks at ~1.41.

BUT, and it is a large one, I cannot get P95 to run past 3 or 4 minutes before temps hit 100C. So stability testing is out of the question at 5.2 with P95.

Not sure what to use to test stability other just playing the games and seeing if it holds up.

Going to 5.3 is a major jump though and needs at least 1.4 target, with peaks to 1.48 and then the temps do hit 90-100.

Price is high, for now (Canadian $ with delivery cost me 800), but I am happy with it.

Oh well thats different. Of course temps never get past 65 gaming. Thats a totally different ball of wax than running OCCT for ten minutes and seeing your temps get out of control!

Personally you should turn down your overclock as your cooler is not up to the task. Your either going to throttle or something is going to burn up and be more specific when you mention your temps such as idle, vs gaming, vs Prime95 load AVX or no AVX.

Nice overclock though!
