maximus viii formula bios ways to flashing back

I reasonly got hold of the 6gen i7 es "qhqf" and was happily going to flashback the bios of this M8F z170 board to get this chip working, but it just not happening due to once you are with the 7gen bios of this motherboard, you can't go back to the old??

The latest of M8F bios is 3801, which any bios version beginning with "3" is still flashiable, such as version 2202 and b4 can not be flash.

does anyone know anyway to get this kind of cpu working on asus maximus motherboard?

don't post on OCN on mobile, it makes your text basically unreadable, it turns all "s" into "s". Use the desktop version on mobile or don't post on mobile.

if you want to go back to an older BIOS you can buy a replacement EEPROM on eBay and swap, as long as your board has a socketed EEPROM. I had to do it on my Z170 when I flashed to the latest and lost the ability to BCLK locked Skylake CPUs.

I've bought from biosdepot and bios_store and both were solid. Bios_Store is cheaper but they're located in Taiwan and shipping is slower. biosdepot is in the US and costs a bit more. I first bought from Bios_Store, got bored of waiting, and then bought from biosdepot. Both got here and were what I asked for though.

If you want a certain BIOS flashed to it other than the latest, message them before buying and they'll ask you to link them to the BIOS you want. Both were happy to do it for me. By default they flash the latest for your board.

I used a CH341a with AsProgrammer 1.40 to program a new bios chip that I bought. I also suggest dumping the current bios using FPT. If you re-program your chip using a bios from Asus' website or buy a pre-programmed chip online it won't have the MAC address, UUID, motherboard serial number.

I also suggest posting on https://www.win-raid.com/ I'm sure they'll help you and mod a bios for you to get it working that you can just program.

Edit: I also want to add Flashback will allow you to flash it an older bios but your ME version will stay the same.
