Anyone manage to get Z390 running under windows 7?

I'd really like to get windows 7 running on my sig rig but im prevented because of the lack of USB drivers and maybe intel lan? I tried google and got a bunch of somewhat ok-ish results but nothing concrete. So has anyone managed it yet without spending hours getting USB working? I'd settle for windows 8.1 honestly but i hear it has the same issue.

There are a ton of Z390/Z370 people using Windows 7 on HWBOT but it depends on what board, really. The EVGA Z390 Dark for example supports Windows XP/7 out of the box.

Most are using either PCI-E USB expansion cards that play nice with XP/7 or they're using PS/2. Most people (for HWBOT) don't install ethernet drivers but if yours doesn't play nice you could just add a NIC that does.

Windows 8.1 works fine on my Z390 Taichi without any fighting or expansion cards. I use Windows 8.1 Embedded Industry Pro for my HWBOT bench OS.

I use this prebuilt ISO (8.1 EIP + skin to make it look like Windows 7) and got a key through my MS Azure account.

If you don't have access to an Azure account finding a key for EIP is gonna be difficult, but you shouldn't have any issues finding a key for the standard vanilla consumer 8.1. EIP just has a lot of telemetry stuff removed and has less bloat/is easier on system resources.

In no way should it be misconstrued that I do not disagree.
