Is it okay to test motherboard with missing vrm heatsink? Intel z270

Greetings.

I have acquired an open box (amazon) msi z270 m power gaming titanium that is missing the smaller vrm heatsink.
Would I be all right to test the board if it boots up and all with the section of the vrm heatsink missing?
