64GB 4000Mhz RAM vs 128GB 3600Mhz RAM

I just bought the RVIE Encore to pair with the 10980Xe.

I bought the 64GB 4000Mhz RAM but I'm wondering if I should get the 128GB 3600Mhz RAM instead. the 128GB is only a couple of hundred $ more. Is OC'ing 3600Mhz RAM to 4000Mhz difficult? Is it feasible?

Any advice?

What's the question?

do you need more than 64GB RAM of RAM? Then get 128GB. If not, then don't.

Adding RAM for no reason doesn't improve performance, and Intel already cares very little about RAM speed/latency outside a very few specific workloads.

Intel i9 9900K Coffee Lake @ X8 5309mhz (+47.5%)
AMD FX-8320 Vishera @ X4 5022mhz (+43.5%)
Intel i5 4690K Haswell @ X4 5013mhz (+43.2%)
AMD X4 960T Zosma @ X6 4870mhz (+62.3%)
Intel i7 6700 Skylake @ X4 4709mhz (+38.5%)
Intel i5 6400 Skylake @ X4 4588mhz (+69.9%)

Is 4000Mhz significantly better than 3600Mhz? If not, I'd rather get the 128GB kit since having more RAM is better for me since I do quite a bit of content creation. My current rig has 64GB and it's fine so I can manage with 64GB but I'd prefer to have more RAM for those occasional use-cases where it may be needed.

Hi,
For one you could be more spastic 4000 and 3600 isn't really saying much
3600C16 yes can do 4000MHz pretty easily at around 1.4v and some timing tweaks.

3600C16 default timings are actually worse than 3200C14 timings
So even 3600C16 timings I had to tweak a little to get it to run better.

Encore has had some reports over on rog forum of not liking xmp profiles and maybe hynix/ micron memory kits no telling not enough info to tell
https://rog.asus.com/forum/showthrea...me-omega-Bug-s

https://rog.asus.com/forum/showthrea...-make-it-work-!

I don't have the board but even I had issues I referanced to have to tweak timings on b-die
I used to just set the rated speed and timings/ voltage and boom everything worked
No more after 1705 bios so yeah asus messed something up or Intel micro code is.
3600C16 tweaked
