Help Asus z97 pro gamer

hi,

need help identifying whats happened,...

sons pc i7 4790k, asus pro gamer mobo, amd rx5600 xt, hyper x 16gb etc...

he said windows notified him it needed to restart due to a update, he restarted pc, upon restart, everything was zoomed in like it was running safe mode.
he then restarted again and pc failed to post.
wont boot to bios at all now.

red light stays light when doing its pre bios checks and stops on hdd and stays illuminated.

unplugged ssd and normal hhd and m2 ssd.

still will stop on hhd, and stay lit,

to me it points that theres issue with one of my drives.

yet surely if there was it would post to bios and now say theres no hdd connected.

tried having just cpu, 1 stick of ram connected and nothing else.
still same thing happens.

tried above with 1 stick of different ram in every different slot.

don't knw what else to try

thanks

Try connecting the igpu and flushing CMOS. You need to remove the battery for it.

Seems like a broken SATA controller then. If you can, try putting all parts from your sons PC onto an other 87/97 board, doesn't matter which letter has a chipset.
