hello there, i hv a Asus P4C800E-DELUXE mobo....

i have been oc-ing a lil bit together with deah0nator, and i have found that the vcore flutuates like a muthafocka during Prime95, the vcore looks like its over volting while its at idle, and dives when i start Prime95.

have anyone dealt with this situation before?????????????????????

i have Antec TrueBlue PSU, P4 [email protected] 3.7x, Kingston HypX pc4000 512*2...etc

PS: i need a friend that is very knowledgable about intel stuff, death0nator is too AMD-wise......heh hes a really comp-educated guy, but i need intel guy to help me out with some problems lol.....

PPS: well according to MBM5, when i am Prime-ing, my low vcore is 1.57 while my high vcore is around 1.71..... i set 1.65v in my bios

PPPS: the avg of my vcore when priming is around 1.58, a 0.07 diff versus 1.65v. is there anything i can do to make the vcore more stable?

Currently waiting for a solution to fix my mobo

(idle: -10 to -14 load: 14 to 10)

Hoping for: 3.2 P4 @ 3.9!

His trueblue PSU is a 480W one BTW. His volt readings could be just plain wrong I guess.

Fold for the cure & team 37726!!
H2O cooling: Chevette heatercore, 172mm 258CFM fan, Apogee GT, and Ehiem 1250. Load temp @ 1.45vcore 41C.

1 dvd
1 dvd-writer
1 floppy
1 hdd
1 SB audigy 2 zs font panel thingy
1 ati r9800 all in wonder
1 mobo
1 cpu

3 exhaust fans
3 intake fans
1 delta fan
1 dedicated pci-cooling fan
1 TT giant3 agp cooler

case LED

is that alot for my PSU??????

PS: can anyone tell me if the MBM voltage reading should be accurate? cuz when its at idle it is almost similar to the voltage i set in bios, but when i start prime, it drops to like 1.56 (if i set it 1.65 in bios), but it is pretty solid at 1.56, the problem is it just drops like no tomorrow....

any solution to the voltage drop? or the reading is just plain wrong?

The issue you are reporting is a known issue for that board. I believe the only way to fix it is with a volt mod. Google search it to find out what how to do this procedure, but unless you have sodering skills and kean knowledge of circuitry, you will have to make due with what you've got.

Sorry for the bad news.

IF his temps are good, do you think he will be able to get over his current 3776mhz using a different mobo? Using 1.65v...

It's hard to say... 3.7 is the highest I've seen on a 3.2. It won't go much higher because it has a high multiplier of 16. I wouldn't waste money on getting another board to see if the chip will go any higher. But if he has money to waste on another board, try ABIT IC7-Max3. To be honest, his o/c of 3.7 is pretty good. He should be very happy with that.
