Update 3

I decided tonight to fab the whole case together, then once I have it perfect I will take it apart to paint.

I did a test of the grey I want to use, let me know what you think.

I do have to apologize. I forgot to really take photos of the process while I was building tonight. mad.gif But you can see what I did. I cut another piece of the angle aluminum for the front support. Then I measured out the mid plate and cut it out of acrylic. And then drilled holes in the acrylic and the supports.

While I was test fitting the 5.25 box I decided I needed it a little shorter. So I cut both sides again, drilled holes and attached with rivets. I also have decided to use rivets for everything I can. They are just too easy! Anyone know where custom colored rivets can be found though?

Love the midplate! What color rivets do you want? I just googled Colored Rivets and tons of links came up.

This is going to look amazing when it's finished smile.gif

Ebay used to have a decent selection of different colored rivets. Here is the seller's store that I purchased my black ones from. They were great to deal with, and also were able to get me some tapered rivets that they didn't have listed in their store. Might not hurt to ask if they don't have what you're looking for.

Well black for sure. What do guys think, green and grey as well? Idk, maybe not. I am also throwing around the idea of painting the little figure on the heatsink gold and then maybe gold rivets? I'm open to ideas.

Update 4

I've gotten a lot work done over the past few days, just haven't had time to post anything, so here goes.

Fedex delivers on Saturday? Who knew, but they brought me a heavy box with two gifts inside! Pair of Alphacool NexXos UT60 420's.

P1020743.jpg

These rads are really nice with 6 ports for and a bleeder/fill port on the other end.

P1020748.jpg

The come with full copper hardware for 6 fans and all the ports each. I really want to use this stuff, but what do you guys think? Will it ruin the build theme?

This same day I tore the Giant down, sanded off the rust from the steel and started painting.

Update 5

Ok this one will start off with some more pictures of paint!

P1020787.jpg

Making a cover for the back of my box that will hold the fan controller and hide the top port wires.

P1020790.jpg

Heat gun and acrylic.

P1020791.jpg

More paint!

P1020792.jpg
P1020795.jpg

Some finished pieces.

P1020799.jpg

Also took apart the door. Now I just have to decide how to design the window...

P1020800.jpg

Finished pieces going back in! Very exciting for me.

P1020809.jpg
P1020812.jpg
P1020813.jpg
P1020814.jpg
P1020815.jpg

And...there it is!

P1020815.jpg
P1020820.jpg

I see you in there.

P1020822.jpg
P1020823.jpg

P1020824.jpg
P1020825.jpg
P1020826.jpg
P1020827.jpg

Finally I just couldn't help myself, I had to put the G1.Sniper3 in. It's not to this stage yet, but I had to see what it would look like. wink.gif
P1020833.jpg
P1020838.jpg
P1020840.jpg

So at this point I'm super stoked to keep pushing on. thumb.gif
Everything is coming together really well IMO.

Small list of things to come:
Paint the rivets black and gold.
Make cut outs for tubing and wiring.

Tomorrow I should be getting more parts in from Frozencpu, so expect more updates shortly! biggrin.gif

This build looks like it's going to be beast when completed! You had me at Tri-580, but the sheer size of the case is just icing on top biggrin.gif When I saw the bright yellow pieces I couldn't quite see how they'd fit in, but it goes along very nicely with the matte'ish gray! Subbed and all that and in for a good ride it seems thumb.gif
