^GaMbi's Build Log - The Acrylic Dragon.

Hello fellow Overclockers!

This is a build log I created to better be able to view and show off my PC project.
It is my first water-cooled PC and most (if not all) the mods are first time as well.

You can explore most of the finished build right here on the OP and second post, but I encourage you to check out the log! loads of info and pictures of the process!
Use the links below to jump between the different stages of the build.

The Build Log includes:
Part 1. Case and Water Cooling. [ ]
Part 2. New PC Hardware. [ ]
Part 3. Delidding. [ ]
Part 4. Window mod. [ ]
Part 5. 1080 Radiator. [ ]
Part 6. DIY Back Plate. [ ]
Part 7. Acrylic Tubing. [ ]
Part 8. Costume Sleeving. [ ]

Enjoy!
Current state:

Original Case

Modded case.

And here is a short video view of the box:

Any comments are much obliged!
Cheers, ^GaMbi tongue.gif

My old PC wink.gif

The Hardware.

Planing etc.

Pump and res locations found

Clear case and cable management

This is how much tube I had left ;D petty lucky, LoL!

Starting to look finished tongue.gif trying to get all the small bubbles out zZz, low/high speed, shaking the case, tapping the tubes
I guess this just takes time smile.gif maybe it will help to turn it off over the night smile.gif getting pretty late anyways biggrin.gif
All in all, I think I got off to a good start on this project!

Here is the final look (I think)

With Flash/Without Flash

With Flash/Without Flash

Here is some info on my old temps vs. my new

It is worth to add that my air cooling did pretty well too smile.gif
COOLER MASTER Hyper 212 Plus
ARCTIC COOLING Accelero Xtreme GTX Pro
(the stock cooler easily got to 80-90 degrees AT STOCK clock :O )

CPU Air Cooled [email protected]
Idle: 36, Full load: 70

CPU Water Cooled [email protected]
Idle: 26 Full load: 50

GPU Air Cooled [email protected]
Idle: 41, Full load: 67

GPU Water Cooled [email protected]
Idle: 33, Full load: 45

Now THAT is what I like to see!

Just ordered a Fan Controller, hoping to bring down the noise a tat and still keep some good cooling scores.

Edit:
Oh yeah.. almost forgot to post pics of a little side project tongue.gif

Upgrade from old Old INCREDIBLE OLD Logitech Media keyboard (yes.. that is its actual name biggrin.gif )
and a Func from before they "died" with burn marks and all in all worn out, mouse mat
To: Logitech G710+, the new Func Surface 1030 XL and ofc new gliders for my G5 Mouse tongue.gif

GaMbi.

I'm surprised you haven't gotten any feedback on this. There's certainly no shortage of expertise around here. I'm pretty new to the notion of water cooling, myself, so I appreciate all the photos and build progress. I think, like you, I'm still trying to figure out how to "join the party" in this particular forum, as my initial post for feedback/suggestions didn't generate much interest, either.

Looks like a really clean build. I love the case.

Looking good there. Tip to get the bubbles out try tilting your whole case in all directions and be careful to watch that the water doesn't come over the top of the res lol. have the res about half full so you have a bit of give on the titling
