There won't be a lot of modding done on this case as to be honest, it is almost perfect for me...That being said, I've been wanting to do a monster mITX build for a while. Recently, Case Labs released the Mercury S3 case. Perfect for what I wanted to do! biggrin.gif

Hardware Specs:
Case Labs Mercury S3 case
EVGA Stinger motherboard
Intel 3770k I-7 CPU
Corsair Dominator Platinum 2 x 8GB 1600 mHz RAM (subject to change if I decide to w/c the RAM)
MSI 6970 GPU (may be changing it out)
Silverstone Strider 750w PSU
Dual Samsung 840 Pro 256 GB SSDs

Watercooling Specs:
Dual Alphacool XT 45 240mm rads
Noiseblocker eLoop fans
Aquacomputer Aquaero XT control
Aquacomputer Poweradjust Ultra
MCP35x (possibly changing out to a D5 variant)
EK blocks for CPU and GPU
Mayhems Pastel White fluid
Koolance DDC top and mounting kit

Log Updates:
S3 unboxing
Rad and Aquaero Mounting
Fan/Lighting Control
Wiring/Cabling
Fillport and Temperature LED
Sleeving
Cabling Continued
Pump Assembly

S3 unboxing...

I was actually surprised at the packaging of the case, it was really packed very well!

Box:

Open it up and to has foam corners and a really thick plastic wrap...

Out of the box...

Plastic wrapping...

The windows are covered on both the outside and the inside...along with a lot of packing inside!

The hardware kit is pretty well done and each bag is labeled...

Holes for the feet...

Simply screw them on...(although these will probably get changed out)

Panels removed...

I like that it has room for a triple slot GPU and the watercooling holes have caps (grommets are included to change out)

HDD side...I like how easy the access is to the front panel wiring...

Drop in rad mount for a 240 or 280 mm rad

2 USB 3.0 and typical antivandal switches...

Front 240 mm rad mount...

This case is really not going to see much in the way of modding...When CL was designing it, I spent a lot of time offering up suggestions based on what I saw as shortcomings with the design of the Prodigy. Jim took it all into consideration and this is almost like getting a custom built case for me. It has almost everything I want, where I want it.

This makes me want to build an ITX system really bad...

I'll be watching this build thumb.gif

Want to breathe some life into that old LGA775 system you have? Don't want to spend the money on an expensive Core 2 Quad? Check out this simple mod to get the most out of your system with an LGA771 Xeon CPU

Subbed dorido ! I've been waiting to see what you can do with a CL case since I watched your Yin & Yang prodigy builds. It will be epic, I know, coz your pix are already vibrating my buyer's trigger finger; they show off the S3's impeccable design. CL is unlike any other case maker in terms of packing - seems like a minor detail, but when you open up your CL box, and see the level of detail that CL puts into packing the case ! You know you're in for a game changer when you build into the case. I'm not gonna say flawless, but awe inspiring - the materials, design - all of it, are accomodating to a type of enthusiast who WANTS TO FILL IT UP ! biggrin.gif

Btw, I kinda miss old double tongued Alfred as your avatar, but its all relative wink.gif

So am I a bad person or is my female Shepard just easy?

Yeah..The M8 I had was a brilliant case...You can really see the design evolution with the S3.
I'm on so many forums now, I decided to put up a common avatar amongst them all. Picture was taken from my better side...Dontcha think? biggrin.gif

Radiator and Aquaero mounting

Like a kid in a candy store...went crazy this afternoon and started working on the rad assemblies and the Aquaero mounting...

Not much to show with the Aquaero, just 2 short brackets, but it really looks great in place!

After the Aquaero, it was time to do the front rad assembly...pretty simple really...a two part bracket that is disassembled, the fans are then sandwiched between the front flex bays and the rad mount.

Installed...

Here is the top drop in mount...pretty straight forward really....

(Yes, I know the mounting plate is upside down doh.gif

Both rads installed...

Even have a little room for the Aquaero!

Anyways, that's all for tonight! thumb.gif
