Time to start a new build because I am bored biggrin.gif

I am typically an Intel/nVidia user, but wanted to switch it up a bit so we are going with a pure AMD build. I also want a challenge and to work on some case modding, so I am going to try to 'overstuff' a Fractal Arc Midi R2.

Since Valve looks to be releasing Source Engine 2 pretty soon [looks pretty promising, but it is Valve so I won't be surprised if it doesn't happen]....I am going to apply a Half-Life theme in hopes of getting Half-Life 3 sometime in the lifetime of this machine. Expect orange and lambdas wink.gif Also the name

Good deal thumb.gif still would go 8350 if possible though, it will handle those 7950s much better

Alright guys, I got the rear case mod done today!!! Well, mostly. I will be adding some U-Channel and some custom fan grills (I am drawing them up in CAD right now).

I messed up the screw holes a little bit, but it should still work smile.gif

Got the drawing done

What it will look like inside the case

Holes cut...screw holes are slightly off...but oh well :/

Checking the cut

Installed!

Close up

Let me know what you guys think...I will post the custom fan grill drawings when they are finished. I am thinking they will be chromed out smile.gif

Now that I look at it......I might replace that front rad with an X-Flow version.

Looks like there is about 25mm space between the bottom of the rad and the bottom of the case and about 30mm between the top of the rad and top of the case. The X-Flow is only 15mm longer, so I think this should fit no problem

The swap out will ensure that there are no issues with the connectors on the rads being too close, as well as give a nice low point return from the GPU blocks.

I think problem prevention and cleaner tube routes justify buying smile.gif

Also, since I am using a bay res, I am thinking of adding some fillports in the top, so I do not have to deal with pulling the bay res out to fill. This also should allow for me to turn upside down to drain easily. The top cover of the Arc Midi R2 will hide them nicely as well smile.gif

Proposed fillport locations.

Just drop it down to a T-connection right before the inlet to the res/pump and I think I am in business
