I guess the main issue is scaling that type of service and making it economically viable for the company, but I can imagine many people would be willing to pay a premium to get a personal touch on their products. I certainly would be, and do go to custom design houses to get this sort of service today.

Personalization is great stuff, but very hard to implement the right way. I doubt it will be economically feasible any time soon to do it directly in manufacturing unit as it adds a lot of complexity. mad.gif Some of our local partners like Performance PCs in USA already do this - they have bought laser engraving machine to add logos and stuff to standard products. We will see what the future brings. If you know of any good examples of such personalization technology let me know about it and I will investigate.

You could essentially program the routing for a center drill to machine out what you'd want to write. I don't know if you use master cam, but it'd be doable. The costs would probably be too high for production.

Unlikely since Asetek have patents on the integrated-flow type, and Swiftech have patents on the upside-down-DDC-top type.
