Cheap watercool additives/protectors

Currently using DazMode protector, but fingering I can't spend every time $10 per 2ltrs whenever I need to drain my system to change/add something.

Is there anything cheap I can use that is as effective with pure distilled water?

Thanks

PTNuke is a biocide that's really cheap. I'm not sure about corrosion inhibitors since I've never looked that up.

Just drain your fluid and catch in a container. Then run it through a coffee filter and reuse it.
That's how I do it and it's fine.

Changing to new fluid is only needed once a year.

i know it's controversial, but i use prestone (only the one with ethylene glycol, NOT propylene glycol) at a 50/50 mix with DISTILLED water (not "filterred osmozed equals distilled")
1 gallon is like 16$CAD at wallmart

I am into WC since 5 years, 3 PCs at home used 24/7

before doing that, i used osmozed water + dazmode additive (1 bottle per loop) + silver coil (genuine one from maheims)
results : LOTS of problems of salt deposits around the fittings, green corrosion om the waterblocks, etc. i had to dismount and clean everything once a year, with a toothbrush and vinegar. for each PC. it takes a full week end for each one, each year ! such a pain in the ace.

now after 6 months with prestone, i had to modify stuff on one PC, so I removed the GPU waterblocks : NOTHING , PRISTINE state, even in the smallests fins, not even tarnishing. The copper shinned.

disclaimer : wear gloves AND protective glasses. If you use pieces of cloth to manage the spills (you should), wash them separately from your regular laundry, twice.
Also open the window to get fresh air.
this stuff is a violent poison, and it's sweet. so close your door and do not let pets or toddlers get inside.
wash your hands and face after you are done.
tells your familly or pleople that live with you about what you're doing so they will take care not to touch those clothes or bottles

PS : the dazmode additive IS ethylene glycol (just read the label), just at an higher price. also a small bottle won't get you a 50/50 concentration that kills bacteria.
PPS : do NOT use prestone with propylene glycol. this stuf is used as food additive. so the bacteria likes it.

What? No. Sucrose is not in propylene glycol. PG has a sweet taste, but it's not from sugar.

Hi,
50-50 is a little potent isn't it
Dang it's not a car lol

Last I read it's actually good at 20% antifreeze and even that seems high to me seems 10% would be fine.
Type of I have no idea
Like to use Peak for a bluish and prestone green for well greenish

i know but i was tired of cleaning loops.

this solution eliminate all bacteria/algae/corrosion problems , and it's cheap. that's what OP asked for.
maybe 10-20-30% is enough, i don't know
i only tested the 50/50 mix so i report the results

also, it's the mix used in AIO watercooling systems, so i guess it's efficient.

about propylene glycol, ok maybe it's not equivalent to sugar (i edited my first post), but it's not toxic, so it won't kill bacteria/algae.

Hi,
PTNuke I've read is not compatible with EK nickle plated water blocks
All copper or other nickle manufactures might be okay.
