Recommendations for a custom loop for a quiet extreme rig (Core i7-9900K + GeForce RTX 2080 Ti)

Hi,
I'd consider a ek dual pwm D5 pump if not using two separate loops for cpu and gpu.
Otherwise looks fine.

I'll consider it. However that wouldn't increase the noise and hum? If so, is worth it for the performance gains?

Anyway, I am happy because you found my project good, but did you miss any stuff like an adaptor, toolkit, accessory etc? Are everything matching and make sense or something is incoherent or incompatible?

Also why EK pumps instead of one more Heatkiller tube/pump?

If you were to add another pump, stick with the Watercool pumps. Thraehzone was talking about the EK dual top, not the pumps themselves.

Personally, I see no need for a second pump in this loop unless you want it for redundancy.

Dual pump is not neccesary in this build. I run a single D5 and 2x GTS 360's, CPU and GPU block without problems. I get about 0,9-1GPM with the pump at full speed.

If you go dual pump, you can run the pumps slower to get the same flowrate and this will be quiet. My D5 is pretty loud at full speed, but it's ok at 4000rpm and my temps only rise 0.4°C. But if I slow down the pump even more, the temps go up pretty quick.

If you choose a separate pump and reservoir, you can also mount the pump on a soft Shoggy sandwhich to uncouple it from the case. This will make it a lot more quiet since vibrations are way louder when then transfer on the case.

EK's the only one I've seen that have a dual pump pwm
Dual will be no louder... than a single just insures constant pressure...

I'm confused. It seems he refers to two actual pumps. Sadly EK reservoir for that pumps pair is not made of glass. I don't want reservoir unclouped from pump because that adds one more pair of fittings, adaptors, hoses and point of failure (leakage). I always prefere LEGO style build because I am noob.

Good advice, but I have so far preferred coupled pump with reservoir. Have you any advice to mitgate vibrations in a Lian V3000?

I have only one observation about your configuration you pretty much pick one the best radiator in the market for low speed fans and all the components are very good. But personally I will run dual pump, the risk of failure are pretty low specially with soft tubing and compression fitting
When you build your loop leave it running with the pump a full speed with a external power supply for a couple of hours. Check any leak or fitting loose, if everything is okey add a couple of napkins on any sensible components that can cause a short out like around the CPU, video card etc. Turn on the system use it and control for any leaks from time to time, if everything is okey after a couple of day remove the napkins. That is my way of doing it probably a bit over the top but a piece of high-end hardware in my country are a couple of wages lol

I see that. I really would like to build an air cooled i7-9900K, but by what I have seen I would be waste powerhorse of the chip due the limitations of thermals, power limit, overclock etc. I would prefer air cooling because painness, cost and quietness (no pump sound).

The 360 GTS + 480 GTS will definitely be quieter. And a single D5 can handle this loop fine with the CPU and GPU in it.
But dual D5's give you the same flow at lower speeds (less noise) and give you redundancy when 1 pump fails.

I'm running a GPU + CPU + 2x GTS 360's from a single D5 because I can't fit a second D5 in my case.

They way I would uncoupled is by putting it in the pedestal on a Shoggy sandwhich to absorb vibrations. Connect the pump via soft tubing to 2 bulkhead fittings and from there you can use hardtubing or softtubing in the visible area.

My D5 pump/res combo was pretty quite with softtubing, but since my rebuild is a lot louder. I'm guessing it because of the hardline tubing transfering vibrations to my radiator that is mounted to the case.
A decoupled pump can be 15dB quieter than a coupled pump which is a lot.
