If you guys find an issue with something you should put it out there and warn your consumers not just stay quiet until its very late in the game. The threadripper v1 blocks were the same thing. I have an email from NOV that Igor mentioned that RD was looking into the issue of poor performance yet it wasn't until February the next year (meanwhile the block was sold the entire time) some apology comes out. Just not a good look.
While I don't disagree that the Threadripper block issue could've been handled better (and faster), we've also had times where things would've slid under the radar but we recalled a product anyways, the bad batch of Vardar's like a year? ago.
One of the biggest issues we face actually comes from us being a market leader. We ship so much product that we can have a very minor failure rate on a product but it's magnified due to the high volume of sales. The first run of Solid has already been tweaked a few times and I've noticed an improvement via a decreased amount of failure reports even though the original launch was actually not bad at all. While it's more difficult to make my way through each forum, the largest areas of traffic (Reddit, Discord, and Facebook) I'm extremely active and involved in, and I see a majority of both sides of things. So it's something to keep in mind when thinking we don't take reports seriously, we most certainly do. Also keeping in mind that people have a higher tendency to post about issues than successes. TL;DR is that the launch of Solid did have some issues, those were addressed, and the coolant is actually showing a good trend right now.
As a side note, a large part of why I'm in the forums is to help keep better track of any issues occurring and gather data on both that and requests of what people want. Like that's literally a report I send each month. So anytime failures or issues do come up, I want to know about it. While I already have faith in our QA, you can always do something better.
