I think you will be pleasantly surprised how much better it can look with some polishing using a Dremel.
Stripping the rest of the nickel would be harder than it might seem I think. You might end up with just an uglier block.

I'll find some examples of polished blocks after corrosion when I get home from work.
You can always try the stripping after polishing if you don't like the results but once you start stripping there is no going back.

Bro can you please give me any more info on this please? I am considering taking a dremel mini steel bristle brush to smoothen out the corrosion damage then polishing them out. I would love to see some pictures if you know of any. I was also considering some very fine sand paper that i have that i can sand smooth every single part of the corrosion down. As long as the o-ring fits snug and the plexi glas is untouched it should still be leak proof. I am going to order a set of thermal pads and am hesitant but sooooo close to opening up the block and start to sand/dremel all the damage. Also what do you know about stripping? Have any pics or proof of someone doing this? Like eliminating the nickel altogether? I have not seen this done..
