Help me find a better loop

I've only dealt with EK the past two custom loops, they make it easy to put things together and they work but i know at times they may not be the best or cheapest. For those who know their way around other sites/companies can you put together something like what i have. Do notice that the pump/reservoir style, fan size and radiators are the max sizes i could use for my build. I'm trying to cool CPU+GPU using a front 280(note im no selecting the slim 280) and a top 120 for the gpu. So it'll go Pump>280>CPU>120>GPU back to pump.

I picked the pump as it shows to have good head pressure, i know d5 is supposed to be quieter and what not but I've used this one before and the sound is ok. See the photos for parts and quantities, total shipped shoud be <$740.

Appreciate your help! Have fun.

Help me find a better loop

Heatkiller blocks for both GPU and CPU.
Get a HWL rad instead, much better at lower RPM’s.

Also go for Mayhems fluid. Pick a colour of go clear X1. Look at ordering a blitz kit as well, any rad you get needs a decent cleaning

Hi,
Indeed CE and SE series rads aren't very good

The pwm pump also isn't good
EK does make okay D5 pwm pump reservoir combos just not the one you picked
Matter of fact if you have a local Micro Center around get it from them it will be the one item rma to Germany will be a bummer wait

But this is what I have should be fine for rads/ gpu/ cpu
https://www.ekwb.com/shop/ek-xres-14...m-incl-sl-pump

Fittings and soft hose you'll want to use 10-15mm not 10-13mm

You'll be a lot better off with some noctua or be quiet fans either have 2000 rpm fans much quieter and more reliable like i said rma to Germany isn't all that great

So what exactly makes the D5 better, is it newer, quieter? From what i see L/h abd pressure seems to be the same.
What about the smaller cousin, the EK-XRES100, just the height of the 140 is not helping me. As far as hose, why is wide OD better?

Appreciate the information and knowledge. I've read through several guides and basically i thought the G1/4 has similar size to the 10/13 so going bigger didn't help much, but im sure thats not the end of it.

Thanks for the input, i did like the heatkiller blocks but was struggling to find a place that had most things to try and order from one place.
Copy of the blitz, i had asked EK about the cleaning and they agreed distilled was fine lol.
I do recall HWL rads being very well known, now it does seem they have a few to choose from, any particular series?

Don't expect great temps with a 280+120 for a 9900k and 2080ti. Those draw about 400-600W together.
It will cool sufficient, but not great.

Hi,
Yeah 100 is pretty much the same shorter reservoir tube

It's best to get it now rather than messing with and wasting money on 10-13mm.
The 15mm OD is just better more durable and can get better turns

Thinner tubing just insures you'll need some (probably going to leak rotary fittings) to help make turns because 10-13mm will kink a lot easier than 10-15mm
Cost is about the same or not so much it would make a large difference.

That's another thing i have to think about, maybe a bigger case with more airflow will be way cheaper and have a similar improvement on temps. My case wont really allow anything bigger. Maybe id focus on the 280 for CPU alone and leave the GPU alone, is not bad at the moment but i know once i introduce a fron rad the temps will increase.

As someone else mentioned, i may by pushing it with that loop and the massive heat producers the 2080ti and 9900k are. I may just end up with a CPU loop and increase case ventilation to help the open air cooler on the RTX.

I've kind of fallen in love with my Meshfy S2, but it's not really cheap. Lets you run a top 420 + front 360 + bottom 280 + rear 120 if for some reason you want to populate all the radiator positions

Coincidentally i just saw a review yesterday from J's2cent on that particular case and was just looking at bigger cases. It seems I need to invest on a case first. My case with my current CPU heatsink is cramped. VRM and mobo heatsinks are all very close and the 2080ti is literally sniffing up the front fans rear end. That was totally my mistake, i liked the case and overlooked that small factor.

Hi,
EK rads wise PE or EX only
Be aware ek rads do have an additional collar with o-ring that other rads do not have
Pretty much another possible leak besides the actual hose fitting.

But yeah thought it was lite weight rads but cases are what they are

I added a second floor to fit a larger radiator inside maybe that might be in order for you

Check out my rig images it shows the boxes on top.
