Hi guys bringing this back up again because I've actually acquired the case I'll be using and now I'm looking at probably piecing together a full custom kit instead of using a "kit in a box" etc. So I went with the CM H500M which has the front mounted 2x200mm fans, 1x140 in the rear and room for up to 2x200, 3x120, etc. up top. I was thinking of doing a 30mm rad up top with fans in a pull config. There is only 43mm of clearance from the mobo to the top mount and then about the same on the top side of the mount to the top glass panel on the case which has vents along the sides of that top panel. So I figure for airflow it's better to have 25mm thick fans up top vs a 30-40mm thick rad. Less bending for the airflow to have to do.

Here's where I need advice though. I could alternatively put a 45mm rad in push pull with the 200's still in the front and 3x120 on the back side of the rad in the case and then just get 3 more 120's or whatever up top for some extra exhaust, or put 3x120's in front in push and move the 200's up top. I'm not sure which would be best. Those CM 200's can move 90cfm each and I was thinking of BeQuiet SW3's which would be at or just under the max CFM of the pair of 200's. Combined with the 140 exhaust already in the case that means I end up with slightly negative airflow and start sucking in air/dust through all the panels etc. So I'm not sure what to do there.

I do plan to do only the single 360 for now since for the moment I will only be cooling the CPU and some overclocking but wanting to keep noise down (will be doing streaming so don't want a bunch of fan noise). However in the future I'd like to add the GPU when I upgrade my 1070 so I may end up with a second 360 in there.

Anyone have any input with my update plans as per post #11?

All 30 or 45mm thick rads are not created equal. So, saying "should I do a 30 or a 45?" is impossible to answer. If your intention is to keep the noise to a minimum as you stated, then an HWL 360GTS would be the rad of choice (IMHO) for the front with one set of fans (see low rpm results here, as well as why doing P/P will offer no performance gain - https://www.xtremerigs.net/2015/02/1...-round-2015/5/). As far as the top exhaust, it really shouldn't be necessary to have any fans up there, but I haven't used this case so can't say for sure how well it flows. I would try it with and without the 200mm mounted up top..

Yeah....the little girl hentai avatar is really creeping me out....

Thanks. Sorry I should have specified I was looking at the alphacool ST30 V2 vs the xt45. Aesthetically I'd like to keep those 200's on the front (they're ARGB) so I might just end up putting an ST30 up top. Maybe I will make a cardboard mockup though once I get the PC parts to see what will actually fit up top. CM says 43mm but that's also going to be dependent on RAM and VRM cooling so maybe I can get away with a 45 or even a 30 with fans in push still. I've seen videos of a 240 AIO in there with the whole thing mounted to the underside of the top frame.
