How Long Could I use Straight Distilled For?

Hello so I wanted to know what the maximum amount of time I could use straight distilled water for is? As I'm waiting for the delivery of the Mayhems coolant I ordered I wanted to still use my pc while I wait for the transit time of 5 days. Earlier today I had drained my loop as it well overdo and needed to be done.

5 days is fine while you wait. I would not use straight distilled over a month (algae and corrosion).

How often do you flush your loop? I dont see how you havnt had any growth in so long as I had growth in my loop from neglecting to change coolant for too long hahah. Used my leftover coolant I had mixed in a big batch that was 1 year old and used it regardless of not being advised by the manufacturer. continued to used that coolant for another year in the loop and growth cropped up after 9 months of use. If interested this is the Mayhems X1 coolant I was using.

I've been using Distilled Water and Kill Coil for the last 7 years, loops fine. Just do not run JUST water.

I like to have fun.

hmmm may just switch to distilled with biocide and corrosion inhibitor then as I have nickle plated blocks. Went with the coolant originally as I'm more particular about aesthetics, I know that I could add dye to the water and get the same look. Just never did that as I thought water never lasted that long but from the experienced users here says otherwise.

I mean, YMMV, but I've been running a loop with nothing in it but water for the past 8 months, and there's nothing suspicious going on with it.

You may find some corrosion in your actual blocks if you aren't even running a kill coil.

I like to have fun.

I wouldn't recommend doing distilled without a corrosion inhibitor if you care about the look of your nickel. Nickel makes everything more complicated. That said 5 days is nothing.
