Tubes bioattack?

Well, after one year using car G12 from Volkswagen + distillate water, i start noticing this on my tubes:

Sorry in photos aren`t ok, but basically my soft tubes have this white spots....some kind of fungus, i presume.

Already remove the liquid, put pure distillate water for clean, remove, more distillate water, and finally G12 + distillate water.

The system is: Heatkiller Nikel IV + D5 Water-cooling on Heatkiller reservatore and a old Inovatek Tube, + Ice Extreme 120mm radiator and on top Alphacool 360 radiator.

Lot of different metals.

Is this bio something, or quimical reaction?

How can i remove all, without change tubes? Coca-Cola?

looks like plasticizer.

does it come up easily when wiped?

no. please do not put coca cola into your computer. that's a terrible idea. IDK where that's coming from, as you aren't the first person to mention it as of recent. Seems like reddit troll bs.

either way - most likely plasticizer being leached from your tubes. The VW coolant should cover bio & corrosion just fine, but its likely accelerated the leaching of the plastic from your tubes.

I'd recommend looking up Mayhems biocide+ inhibitor+ they're an inexpensive and incredibly effective set of droppers. Even better, is his X1 clear.

Hi skupples

Thanks for fast reply. Coca cola come from old days...i mean about 12 years ago and i did it....for only about 1 hour.

Ontopic.
Didnt try to clean it. Yes been using this for years, and previos system tubes became all white and tuffer.
However, this looks like some organism. Also, i put old liquid on bottle of water and notice something inside fluctuating...like small tubes of something.

Sorry, english is not my native language...

Is this ok?:

https://www.mayhems.net/collections/.../x1-clear-5ltr

I do not want color liquids or exotic stuff...just some practical, serious stuff, to not worry for years, like before.

Thank you in advance!

that would be perfect.

clear, and long lasting.

unfortunately though, I'd highly recommend swapping your tubes, or at the very least flushing with pure water a few times.. not sure there's any stopping the leach once its started.

hopefully someone else can chime in, as I've not had many personal experiences with Plastic leaching.

My thoughts too.....looks like this tubes are done for good.....
The important is not having problems on pump and WB. Old Apogee GT and Inovatek Rev3, inside look like new as the dau i bought them.

Think gona stay like this a few months more, then buy those 5 liters + new tubes.

That 5L doesn't need more additives, correct? Just clean, and put inside system?

Thank you!

5ltr mayhems x1 clear:

Before Using Mayhems X1 range

The system must be clean and have no chemicals of any kind left in the loop. There must be an absence of bleach, biocide and anti-corrosive inhibitors. We recommend you flush your system with Mayhems Blitz kit before use. Mayhems X1 has biocides and inhibitors included within the mixture.

Properties & Benefits

Can be used with all of Mayhems Dyes to make your own colours

Blended with non-toxic corrosion & scale inhibitors for protection of Copper, Brass, Steel, Nickel and Aluminium. Proven to ASTM D3306 and BS6580 standards

Very low oral toxicity, less than propylene glycol

Contains all the biocides you will need

-15c freezing point (dependant on mix ratio)

Generally Recognised as Safe (GRAS) by the US Food & Drug Administration as a food additive

Mobilizes to prevent scale or sludge filming

Boiling Point: up to 100° C (pressure dependent)

85% Bio-degradable within 30 Days

Bitter taste additives to prevent consumption

Can be stored for up to 3 years (in a cool dry environment)

I recommend epdm based tubing or norprene (not neopren).
I also read good commenta from ekwb zmt which is also epdm.

norprene
https://www.aquatuning.us/search?sSe...orprene%2B&p=1

zmt
https://www.aquatuning.us/search?sSearch=zmt&p=1

btw aquatuning maybe has a shop in your language, whats your Native language btw?

I also made a bad decision by chosing the wrong tube (masterkleer) which i wasnt aware of the plasticizer in it.
And hell yeah it ended that the clear tubing was getting milky over 2-3 months .Coolant used was distilled water only with 10-15ml phobya superzero (btw dont by that stuff ).

The ph would be nice to know from the coolant you had.

6.5 -7.5 is good to go (@skupples) right ?

Hi.
I read the instructions too. No problem using 5 litters destillated water or morejust too clean and flux all system....

Yep i know the site. Most of my actually stuff come from there too. I would prefer trans lucid tube, even with transparent liquid....and of course i know tygon! Great stuff!

The tube i use i think is Alphacool not totally transparent. 10/13 i think.

Good question about PH of my liquid....but i don`t have one of those papers for that.

Also, my previous system: Eihm 1046 + radiator Big Momma, was always working the pump 24/24....maybe that fact, can prevent at some point this. Just a crazy thought here.

Thank you for all suggestions. Is up to me have the pain of remove all tubes, buy new ones and repeat all.

Greetings from Portugal.!

Greetings from Tampa Florida

wish they were all this easy

OP : what do?

gallery : oof, mayhems.

OP : ok! fixed

just don't be surprised when even tygon clouds up a little bit.

and agreed, I really like EK's norprene. Quite a bit more flexible than off the shelf norprene hose from the store, or even PPC.

Back here to the topic:

IS this tube ok?

https://shop.watercool.de/epages/Wat...Products/50272

Must be 10/13mm, because my actual fittings, one more month and will have time to clean liquids and change tubes....

Definitely i must give up transparent tube.......

looks like the stuff EK uses. Seems to work well, doesn't stain or leach.
