I've always been curious about what kind of flow rate people are getting with their desktops / test benches. (D5, DDC etc...)
It is very common to find builds with two pumps and in some cases even more pumps within the loop on test benches etc...
The big question is at what point will there be diminishing returns? Is having 3x pumps in a (test bench) loop too much? Is having more than 2x pumps in a regular desktop too much? Every set up is different and unique along with the restrictions introduced into each build, which makes it even more interesting to see how the different configurations compare to perhaps your own that may be similar.
In order to answer a lot of the common questions and to satisfy some curiosity, please post a pic of your desktop / test bench along with details of the set up of your loop.
There are many variables that can affect the loops such as the CPU block, GPU block, Rads, Water temps etc... therefore, because every set up is unique it'll be really interesting to see the different variations / set ups, pump used and the flow rate (L/min) ...
============Please include the following to keep it organized===============
1. Pic and and a list showing the details of your loop (desktop/test bench).
2. Type of Pump(s), Fan's, Fan Speed... (Amount of pumps, Pump Speed etc...)
3. If you used any sharp 90 degree fittings and/or QDC's, please indicate that as well and how many were used in total.
4. Tubing size used. (Ex. 3/8in. - ID x 5/8in. - OD)
4. Water Temp. (For sub zero benching water viscosity does come into play...)
5. FLOW RATE! (L/min.)
6. AVG. Temps during gaming, benches etc... (Screen shot of hwinfo64 would be ideal.)
Here is my new gaming desktop:
+ 9900KS / 2080Ti FTW3 Ultra, Optimus Foundation CPU Block, EVGA Hydro Copper GPU Block, 3x 360 Radiators, 13x Fans in Total. (Rad #1 and #2 = PUSH / Rad #2 PUSH/PULL / 1x Rear Intake Fan.)
+ Single D5 Pump (Optimus Pump/Res System)
+ Pump at MAX Speed. Corsair LL120's at MAX Speed.
+ No hard 90 degree fittings or QDC's used.
+ Tubing size: (3/8in. - ID x 5/8in. - OD) / Comfortable Tuning Mode.
+ Ambient Water Temps.
+ ~5.0 L/min. (Peak)
+ 1 Hour Gaming Temps. Note: The goofy max spike on Core #2 is likely due to the fact that I'm temporarily using the IC graphite pad at the moment, which is actually pretty decent, but I have it in there because I've been testing different CPU's and didn't want to deal with the mess of thermal paste until I'm finished testing. Currently I have one of my KF's in the desktop, but eventually the KS will reside in this rig for good after I'm finished with collecting my data.
