mayhems how to use biocide plus and inhibitor?
I haven't ordered it or used it but how does the mix ratio work for a 900 mL of water?

So Mayhems Biocide Plus and Inhibitor Plus is the best on the Market in my opinion.

You do mix it into Distilled water, however no, not at the rate you are used to.

It is a 0.05% Mix. This Means for Every 1000mL you want to use exactly 0.5mL of each. This means the entire 15mL Bottle will treat 30 Liters of Coolant.

Most people resort to just mixing in anywhere between 5 to 10 Drops of each when first filling their system (Obviously depending on the amount of liquid it takes to fill your system) and then top it off with just a few drops of each every few months.

But if you want to be precise, you should get yourself a medicine dropper. Fill up an Entire 1000mL Bottle with pure distilled water. Then Use the Medicine dropper to measure exactly .5mL (To be clear that is HALF of a mL) of the Biocide Plus and Put that in your 1000mL of water, and then repeat with the same exact amount of Inhibitor Plus. Then Fill your Loop, and you are good to go. Every 3 to 6 Months, top it off with just a few drops of each, and thats all you have to do!

Hope this helps. BTW here is the Link to the product on Mayhem's Own Website, this explains very clearly the mixture rate if you would like an official source.

This should be fixed.
Always a pain, to get the right mixes...and products.

Thank you!

Hi,
Just need some good ph strips in a sealed bag or bottle
Go to a pool supply store locally sure they have even better test devices.

Did eventually read inhibitor effects ph more than biocide but add both equally.

Between 7-8 ph is good not lower than 7 though.

Yup, Thrash makes a good point. Although you should be fine by just using the drops as described, to be 100 percent sure your mix is right, its good to Test with a Ph Test Strip to make sure your Ph balance in your loop is correct. I am no where close to an expert on this aspect, so probably want to do more research on this if interested, but I do know that between 7-8 on the test strips as @ThrashZone Mentioned is the sweet spot.

Using the Inhibitor as described, with the Biocide and pure distilled should get you there though, unless you have some contamination in your loop that is affecting your balance.

I do know that in every system I have used this mixture in, every single one has tested between 7-8 on the Strips, so as long as you mix properly, you shouldn't have an issue. Its more for a few months down the road when you want to make sure your pH levels are still good, use a test strip then, if they are lower then 7 thats when you want to add a bit of both drops to the mix to get it back up. (At least that is my understanding.)

1. What's the difference between Mayhems Biocide Plus and Mayhems Biocide Extreme?
2. If Biocide Extreme is more effective at killing and preventing bio-growths, can it be used with Mayhems Inhibitor as well?
3. Would it be a bad idea to add a silver coil to the mix as an everything-but-the-kitchen-sink strategy to help keep all those bio-growth baddies away. I just spent the last three days cleaning out a bunch of green sludge, slime, and scale out of a big 360 radiator. I hope to never have to do that again.

thanks

Mayhem's Biocide Extreme is an older product, that isn't as effective as Mayhem's Biocide Plus. It contains Copper Sulphate so I would not mix it with the newer "Plus" line of products from Mayhems.

Using Mayhem's Biocide Plus Should be more than enough to keep that nasty crap from growing in your loop again, just make sure to use the right concentrate, you can even though in an extra drop or 2 if you want.

I am pretty sure Biocide Extreme is not compatible with Inhibitor Plus. But Biocide Plus and Inhibitor Plus were made to be used together with Distilled water to be the ultimate solution.

I have never used a silver Kill coil, so I can not advise you one way or the other there. I am maintaining multiple loops right now, over the past several years, and in all of them I use only Distilled Water and Biocide Plus and Inhibitor Plus. I just my yearly flush on 2 of my clients systems, and checked the GPU and CPU Blocks, and they look just as clean as they did on day one, it looks like the flush was completely unnecessary, but its better to be safe then sorry.

As I have never used one, I can't speak to Mayhem's Plus line's Compatibility with them, but I am pretty sure as long as you use the correct mix in your loop, its unnecessary. Good Luck!

biocide extreme is old. n the + series is about to get replaced as well, for a unified option.

silver has been, and always will be a garbage solution. biocide isn't copper sulphate, or silver based, cuz both copper and silver as terrible solutions. not to mention, copper parts create copper sulphate. there is literally zero reason to be using a kill coil, with or without mayhem's stuff. it's an old bro's tail. YES, silver kills some stuff in your water, but that single coil isn't actually very effective for it

controlling your loop really isn't all that difficult. get the + series, add a squirt of both into each liter of water, win. add a couple drops every couple months, keep winning.

winning = blocks should come out looking essentially new, years later.
