How To Measure Loop Temperature?

Sooo....Spring is around the corner and Summer will be following shortly after. I live in upstate NY, and based on previous experience, I expect my COMPONENT temp measurements to increase somewhere in the 8-10c range. On the other hand this is my FIRST custom loop. Simple question is:

What's the best way to measure the LIQUID temperature in my loop? Run my rig under GPU+CPU stress test, pop open the res. and use a digital thermometer? It says my Pump is rated for use up to "55c" so that's my main concern. Under HEAVY gaming load (BFV for example which pushed 99% GPU and 70-80% all CPU cores w/ AVX instructions) my 9900k+1080Ti pull around 400w total and my loop has a single 360 rad.

You're on a custom loop? Get a res that has a built in temp sensor in it or add a Bykski B-TME-SC-V2 into your loop.

a few choices

cheapest - g1/4 temp probe plug
cheaper - g1/4 inline temp probe (i prefer plugs, but some say they're less accurate cuz coolant pools in the caps, to that I say, not at 2gpm!)
less cheap - MIPS device from aquacomputer (temp, pressure, flow, some other random data syncs via the awesome aquasuite software, and the included usb cable)
not cheap - sensors built into pumps/res stuff.

R.I.P. Zawarudo, may you OC angels' wings in heaven.
If something appears too good to be true, it probably is.
Best R0ach Quote of all time : TLDR: Haswell might be the last legit gaming platform unless mice get their own non-USB interface on some newer architecture.
KAIHL Switches < CHERRY Switches, 10/10, blind taste test @ work.

Keep in mind that bykski uses aluminum here!!

I stuck a G1/4" plug one in the bottom of my res which works fine for me. I have this one plugged into my lamptron controller.

If you are anywhere near 55c coolant temp you are in trouble
My coolant has maxed at about 35c in the middle of summer and sits in the low 20s in winter.
If you can afford it the Corsair Commander Pro looks like a good fit for your system.
I would run the pump off the CPU header since it's not allowed to stop completely and you can control the fans based on your coolant temp. Four temp sensors are included in the kit and it also controls your lights.
If your board had a T sensor you could have used that with a 10k thermistor but it looks like your board doesn't have one.
A friend set his up this way and it's awesome
Edit: A single 360 sounds a bit light. I run a 360 and a 420 and that's about right. I have similar hardware.
