EK - I suspect the nickle plating in fittings is not very good ......

So just received an order for 5 items

1 x Angled 2 x 45 (nickel missing/abraised/scratched ???)
1 x Black Nickel Fill Port (dinted, scuffed)
2 x F-F 12mm extender
1 x EK-Res X3 204mm

Out of those five item, the angled 2 x 45 and Black Nickel Fill Port are damaged.

Im like wutt ???

This was after discovering that the nickel in all of my EK fittings has either flaked away or is in the process of flaking away, but the RMA was rejected as it was out of the two year warranty.

After this rejected RMA I told them that I will no longer be buying their fittings, this was before I received the order of five items.

Looks like its all true..............

hi there,

by all Means this looks very disgusting to me.

I had bad fittings when i bought my ek parts ~2011 .

Years later they turned greenish and the last products i bought was for a friend's Loop(2019). Also had some scratches and so.

I also had issues with barrow fittings, scratches in and outside and colouration was also bad!

Cheers

Of course. It is maybe bad quality control (price of trying to cut down prices in order to compete as price/performacnce king), so some parts that should go in the bin end up not recognised as bad/faulty and this happens.

I dont know how else to explain damage inside of a fitting, that can not be transport of storage issue imo

i placed an order on caseking.de website for some items, inculuding xe 360mm 60mm thick rad from ek, that was on 15.2.2020 im still waiting em to send damn radiator to caseking, so that they can send it to me. funny thing is, there is not even time table given when the item will be on stock lmao. i think i will just cancel my order if they dont send it until friday next week.

all in all this was my last investment in pc, in general, im out of this.

Has anyone had a better experience with the new Torque fittings? It was assumed they're better, but I've already read a lot of posts about this AF line-up having abysmal QC so **** knows.

Really, is there much point ?

I pointed out my thoughts direct to EK RMA along with informing them I will stop buying EK fittings.

Not much more to be done when a company is going down hill in such a manner ...........

** EDIT **
just got a response from EK RMA see below

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
We can send you a replacement EK-AF FillPort G1/4 - Black Nickel due to the circled dent (we do not sell used items).

Regarding the nickel plating on AF Angled 2×45° G1/4 Black Nickel. This is normal as the insides are not nickel-plated thoroughly, this is safe to use and it does not affect the performance.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The second point, really ???
