First watercooling parts shopping list

OK, I've decided to go ahead and do a watercooling build. Plan on getting the following parts:
- Optimus Foundation AM4
- EK ZMT Tubing
- 8 Optimus soft compression fittings
- 1 Alphacool 360x30 or 360x45 rad
- 3 Be Quiet SilentWings 120mm fans
- EK XTOP Revo D5 (dual-pump) -OR- 2x Aquacomputer D5 + Alphacool Dual-pump top
- Tube reservoir (can any tube reservoir be used here, or only from EK?)
- 2 Aquacomputer temperature sensors
- 1 or 2 Aquacomputer flow sensors

Still undecided on the pump, alternatively will look for a dual-top D5 pump setup (any suggestions), but either way want a dual pump as at some point I'll add either a 420 or 480 rad along with a gpu block. Can any tube reservoir easily be mounted to the EK dual-pump D5? Also looking at the Alphacool Dual-pump Top (Eisdecke D5 Dual Brass Top) + two Aquacomputer D5 pumps + tube reservoir, but still unclear if any tube reservoir can be mounted to that pump top.

With this new Ryzen 3900x chip I got last week, it just dumps a lot more heat in my room when air cooled and I think watercooling it will reduce that effect.

Anything else I'm missing?

Watercooling is going to INCREASE the amount of heat in your room, as you more efficiently increase the heat transfer away from your cpu. Common misconception that watercooling reduces the best out of your system but no you still put out the same wattage, and that wattage gets more efficiently dumped into your room now.

You have more than enough pump power from a single D5, don't go dual pumps for restriction reasons, in your setup it's mostly for backup and reliability. I don't think the alphacool dual top has mount options for a res, and the EK dual revo has an adapter for an EK res but Im not sure if it'll work with other reservoirs. Can get any tube res and just connect normally to either dual top.

I also assume you're getting an aquacomputer quadro, octo, or aquaero to connect all those sensors to?

I already have an Aquaero 6 LT and will be getting an OCTO as well once those are available here in the US.

Will need to figure out the pump / res situation.
Alternatively I could just run tubes to a separate pump/top combo I guess. Dual would be to run pumps at lower speeds and thus less noise.

If you have a 6 LT, can I ask what the OCTO is for? AFAIK you can expand the PWM headers on a 6 LT using Splitty9 or Silverstone PWM splitters, and the 6 LT has all the sensor information you need.

The EK dual serial D5 definitely can mate to a EK res, though it looks like it's from a male to male adapter to the bottom outlet of a res, I'd imagine any Reservoir works here so long as you can figure out how to mount to your case.

Hi,
Any brand reservoir will work it just needs a line between the two.
I'd look at the heatkiller reservoir at watercool too see if you like them more.

I've found the ZMT to be incredibly frustrating to work with, as have a lot of other users here. The OD is always out of spec, and really only works well consistently with the lousy EK fittings. The Tygon A-60-G is a much better finished tubing and always in spec - https://www.usplastic.com/catalog/it...3112&catid=864

No, I'm in the US, which is why I'm looking at some of the Optimus stuff, for the 10yr warranty (unless of course they go out of business, at which point the warranty is worth absolutely nothing). I'd prefer to be able to purchase stuff from stores like Performance PCs, so I don't have to deal with expensive international shipping and import duties.

Also looking at the Optimus Reservoirs which look like they could be high quality, and then put an Aquacomputer D5 pump in there (if they'll fit, unsure about that). For a second pump, that does not need a reservoir right? Just one pump+reservoir, and then have water flow into the second pump+top, and then out of that second pump+top into the remainder of the loop?

You can connect d5's seperately, and don't need a res on the second one, just don't power it during filling. Just be aware that I'm pretty sure a D5 next won't fit in an Optimus D5 Reservoir.
