Case Recommendations!

Hi all,

I am finally sick of my current setup. I have a mid-sized NZXT with my radiator ghetto-rigged on the exterior. My reservoir is shoved in an HDD bay. You get the picture, I made it work but it's not clearly not ideal.

I'd like to get a new case designed with watercooling in mind. I have an old Black Ice GTX 360 radiator that I would like to comfortably mount *inside* the case this time XD

I also use a Blu-ray SATA drive and have a bay-mounted fan controller, so I'm looking for a case that is able to reasonably support (2) 5.25" slots. Ideally the case would also have an easy way to mount a reservoir/pump and as a stretch be able to support a 2nd radiator.

Preferably I'd like to keep it under $250. I do not care about RGB stuff but won't fuss if some compatible fans are included.

From a cursory search the only case I've been able to find is the Thermaltake Core X71. I looked over Lian-Li's offerings and it doesn't look like they even have 5.25" bays anymore. What else is out there? Anything I should consider?

Thanks everyone!

5.25" drive bays have been going away. How often do you use the Blueray? I might have an option to open up cases? What fan controller?

Fractal Define R6 has a single 5.25" bay and is aimed squarely at watercooling & enthusiast setups - https://www.fractal-design.com/produ...fine-r6/black/

There are some really nice options for converting a 5.25" drive into an external unit over USB these days. Were I in your shoes I'd buy the R6 & get an external box to run the blu ray drive as a stand alone device.

True. I've been looking for the perfect case for a long time just to realize it doesn't exist. Better not to be limited by things like 5.25 bays.

don't even need an enclosure unless you want one.

get something like this and ditch the 5.25 requirement

The Phanteks Enthoo Pro or Luxe should do the job, quite a bit better quality than the ThermalFake stuff as well.

Look you link is broken. I assume a USB to SATA adapter or an external bay?
