2 loops are less efficient as in the vast majority of cases only one of the components are running full tilt which means one of the loops is doing very little in the cooling of the system.

Will the duel be pistols at 20 paces? Fencing? Can't make any predictions without knowing the nature of the duel.

Cons for dual loop: More components (more risk of failure), more energy consumption, higher initial cost.

Pros for dual loop: Ultimate performance. Dig further into forums for info.

As a side note - A single loop can handle most configurations. I wont quantify performance of a dual loop over a single loop.
Too many variables including :

Components
• Rig / Workstation;
• Blocks / Radiators;
• Pump(s) and flow rate;
• Resistance (Fittings, distribution design, # of bends etc.)

Temperature
• Wattage / Heat output of rig;
• Ambient temp etc.

If you find you are on the high end of components and temperature, a dual loop may be right for you.

and what you're doing with it that might actually give you a performance benefit over splitting your maximum cooling potential.

would be nice to at least give the guy a single example where someone's increased their performance by splitting their loops. specially in the last 5 years.

How does a dual loop perform better?

How well your CPU/GPU is cooled is down to the blocks.

How much your water temps is over ambient is down to your radiator space, fans and flow rate.

Single or dual loops doesn't change any of that.

idk, that's why i asked for at least one single reference to his "search the forums!" i could possibly see it being a thing if you constantly dealt with lopsided loads, but that's not how most games work anymore(multithreading). People keep saying only one side is getting heavy use.. do you even look at your OSDs anymore?
