EK Magnitude or Optimus Foundation for new AMD build

Hey all, I'm getting back in the game after years of not upgrading. This summer I will be building a new AMD rig. I'll probably go with the 3900X or the XT refresh (if it's real and released in the June/July time frame).

I've been looking into water blocks for the new build and it appears the top end performers for AMD at the moment are the EK-Quantum Magnitude and the Optimus Foundation. There doesn't seem to be a lot of reviews out there, especially on the Magnitude. I can only find the TPU review. That said, in their review the EK block seems to be basically on par with the Optimus and the Optimus is about $100 less. On the other hand, I've read about the gripes with the availability and mounting system of the Optimus (however, the mounting seems to work fine at the end of the day. I might just throw in some washers to avoid scratching the motherboard).

Knowing that I won't actually build the new PC until a month or two from now, especially with the lack of availability of a lot of parts, and so I could give the Optimus some lead time to get delivered if I were to choose it, which block would you recommend and why?

Are there other factors I should consider?

Note, I haven't decided any other parts of the water loop just yet.

There is just as much in the way of complaints with the Magnitude mounting system. They are both lousy. That said....

The Optimus Foundation. Not even close in my mind.

Yeah....the little girl hentai avatar is really creeping me out....

Don't sell EK short like that. They are also really good at making newer users believe their stuff is better than mediocre at best quality. 😉
