toxic owners: theres a bios issue according to http://www.hardocp.com/article/2011/08/29/sapphire_toxic_hd6950_video_card_review/3.

everything seems to be running fine with the +20% powertune, but i was wondering if sapphire has released the bios fix yet, i cant seem to find it anywhere.

The pressure created by seeing the 'Delivered' notice for my copy of BF3 was too great. I just ordered my 6950 Toxic from newegg. This is going to be a stressful week of package tracking...

I havent seen anything for a bios update reguarding this yet. Its weird, it was like ready almost 2 months ago.

On your first run your CPU is at 2.6ghz, on your second its at 4ghz. Thats why second is faster even with lower GPU clocks.

Also not everyone is experiencing issues with the TDP throttling that requires the Powertune 20% setting. It seems [H]ardOCP got an early sample for review and a lot of the actual shipping cards have a proper bios.

I tested my cards with Furmark set to XTREME burn-in and my frequency stayed the same throughout the test.

Try it for yourself. Do xtreme burnin and watch the frequency, if it changes from 880 (or whatever you have it to) to something less, then you're affected by it. If not, you're good.
