Hey there!

Im looking for a backplate for my GPU (http://www.scan.co.uk/products/3gb-xfx-radeon-hd-7970-ghz-dd-edition-ghost-thermal-and-hydrocell-6000mhz-gddr5-28nmgpu-1050mhz-2048)

However im struggling to make a decision as to weather or not this backplate (http://www.scan.co.uk/products/ek-ek-fc7970-dcii-backplate-for-ek-fc7970-dcii-series-water-block-black) will fit.

Ive read some forums saying i need the waterblock, some say i dont, ive looked at my GPU and i see more than 4 screws holding the air cooler in place and as such im struggling to make a decision on weather or not to purchase it.

the compatibility list here ( http://www.coolingconfigurator.com/waterblock/4563#DB_inline?height=260&width=530&inline_id=comp_table) for the backplate says that "visually" it will fit however has anyone ever purchased these two in combo and had success? anyone able to shed some light on the situation?

Thank you very much smile.gif
