So I bought parts to build a new rig which consist of;
MB- MSI Z97s Krait Edition http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813130801&cm_re=msi_krait-_-13-130-801-_-Product
CPU- Intel i7 4790K http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819117369&cm_re=i7_4790k-_-19-117-369-_-Product
RAM- Corsair Vengeance DDR3 2133 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820233531&cm_re=corsair_vengeance_2133-_-20-233-531-_-Product
GPU- XFX R9 280X (TDFD) http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814150678
PSU- Seasonic Silent 1050W http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817151145
OS- Win7 X64

The issue that I'm having is that the GPU is not being detected. I have turned the graphics option in the EUFI to PEG and it still will only display via integrated graphics. The fans are spinning, but the GPU is not being detected by the motherboard. Not even in MSI's "board explorer" in the EUFI (it shows both PCI-e slots as empty even when I try the card in either or.
I have tried different ports in the PSU, different 6pin and 8pin cables, and everything I can think of.

I have tried the 280x in my old system (Asus Crosshair IV Formula/ AMD Phenom II 955/ G.Skill Ripjaws DDR3 1600/ Cougar 850W PSU) and it detects and displays just fine. I have tried my old GPU (XFX HD6850) in the new build and it detects and displays fine as well.

I'm baffled and would appreciate any help and/or advice.

Have you tried your power supply in your other machine and did it work with your un-detecting psu? If it worked then replace your motherboard.
