Figured I'd put this here also..

my original post

https://www.overclock.net/t/1605603/sapphire-rx480-with-sapphire-hd7870-ghz-edition-4-heatpipe-cooler-memory-heatsink-and-fan-shroud

RX480 with Sapphire ghz edition heat pipe cooler, mem heatsink and fans.. bolt on.. I havent tested it yet but guessing it'll work.. the tdp of the 7870 ghz edition is 175 so it shoudl be ok.. I would have rather had a vapor-x cooler to try but couldnt locate one..

My own RX480 dual-x..

My Temps are arround 75°C @ 61% (arround 1500 RPM) with 1420(1,21v)/2200. But theres no further OC. I can get Stable 1430 with 1,26v but the Step is too high. 1440 ist even at 1,3v not stable. I would need better Cooling or a better Card. But my Asic ist good with 79,4 %. I dont know whats the Problem.

Alright, turns out that the original fan were undersized for a rather silent operation (~1200rpm max.)
So i decided to replace the fan bracket with two 120mm fans.

A slot bracket as clamp fit perfectly:

30min Furmark @ ~900rpm:

All new cards throttle when they detect furmark now it seems.

It's funny to see a card that was meant to be super energy efficient having these huge cooler mods biggrin.gif

It's supposed to run as silent as possible under full utilization, you can't do this with the reference fan. rolleyes.gif

The secondary VRM temperature (i.e TSEN2) is intended for monitoring Loop 2 VRM temperature. Loop 2 is unpopulated on RX 480 so the TSEN2 will be VAUX instead (a dual purpose pin, as stated by the datasheet). The protection limits for the VRM are 115°C (GPU throttling), 130°C (immediate shutdown).
