Don't remember any kind of rule that restricts people from criticizing ones setup.

How dare you pair a 1950x with dual vega 64's... You could have gotten 15% more fps in CSGO with a 8700k and a 1080ti!!!!

I bet your rig only manages to DEMOLISH threaded workloads, while still having plenty of single threaded performance and more graphics horsepower than what 99.9% of people actually need. How dare you man.

XD

He's probably got a pentium and a gtx 730, but he knows more about your rigs purpose and performance than you... so you should listen to him man...

Just noticed rig signatures are gone. Doesn't matter. 5775c @4.2GHz with GTX660 cuz I killed my 290X and I'm too much of a scrooge to get a better one.

40% to even 100% FPS difference, stuttering in Tomb Raider. Used 5960x is at a really reasonable price and isn't as weaker than 6950x, given it's Vega with crap CrossFire this'd be still at least 40% lost performance. Threadripper is purely workstation CPU and I highly doubt this PC goes for workstation. Not gonna judge, just saying you could invest your money better if that's a gaming build.

Exactly my point, you have no idea what he uses his rig for, and yet you are assuming all he does is game with a 1950x.

In regards to that video, it would be interesting if the person had actually tried using gaming mode on the threadripper part. As far as gaming is concered 32 threads is a huge waste, and higher framerates would be achieved with the lower memory and cache latency that switching to gaming mode provides- the biggest gains with it tend to be at lower res, which this video is emphasizing as the biggest performance gap.

I am pretty sure you don't get two V64s for any kind of actual workload other than gaming. And mining maybe.

According to the spokeperson, there was literally no difference in SLI setup when gaming mode was on or off.

When I saw the video say "huge CPU bottleneck" at 1440p when core usage didn't even hit 50% on the 1950X, I just stopped right there. (clearly doesn't know what a bottleneck is)

IPC isn't quite there with first gen ryzen and frequency compared to intel, so until devs optimize a bit Intel will stay on top in "Gaming". Honestly though 170 fps vs 140 fps is really not a problem regardless.
